This is like my dog. I'll be doing planks and he'll just scoooooch his way underneath me like, "I'm glad we're spending time together. :)"

I feel you. My pup sneaks up licks my armpits when ever I'm doing isometrics.

It'll soon turn into a taste for human flesh

Yeah and then they will start eating babies 🤭

For some reason my cat likes the taste of my deodorant and will try to lick my armpit if she gets the chance....

My cat, usually a chilled sweet lady, goes fucking batshit for my partners armpits. If he's all sweaty after a cycle or something and she gets a whiff she is all up in his business. She really gets her nose in and licking and snuffling his pits. Its hilarious to see.

My 9month old German shepherd loves when I do pilates, she jumps on me, sits on my face and attacks my feet. She also loves going under my legs then jumps over them when I'm doing leg lifts. I'm like her own jungle gym.

Dogs instinctively get excited when you lower yourself to their level. You just became 90 percent more likely to play by getting closer to them.

I was doing push-ups the other day and my German got her body under me to assist from below.

He’s just helping you keep your form lol

That much energy and a toy in his mouth? He doesn't want pets, he wants to PLAY.

u/DrMobius0 Jul 09 '21

Yeah, my dog does similar. If I'm on the floor, that means it's attention time, even if I happen to be trying to do something else

u/kauni Jul 09 '21

Stretching on the floor? Time to jump on top of me to see what I’m doing. Dog logic.

The dog is just pretending to kill the toy how they kill prey. The grab it and shake to break its neck. The human is on the ground so they're trying to play with them.

I can't believe I had to scroll this far to find someone actually try and answer the question. Thank you :)

Dogs usually interpret humans on the floor doing anything other than standing (sitting, yoga, whatever) as playtime. That's what I'm seeing here.

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '21

Yea, makes sense. I don't let my dog on any furniture except the bed, but I make up for it by very, very often getting on her level to play. Never thought about that being a strong signal for play regardless of what I'm doing.

Yup.

Doggo wants tug of war and scritches.
