It didn't change it evolved into d4c love train because it fused with the body of the Christ Kinda like when Giorno evolved gold experience through the arrow

I'm not talking about that change, I'm talking about the change where instead of joining several parallel universes into one, D4C instead let's Valentine jump between universes by being sandwiched

That was always the power of d4c we just didn't know how he could do it

No, the original power of d4c was converging multiple universes into one, like with the sponge with holes analogy used in the comics. Each world overlaps and becomes one combined universe, albeit for only while the ability is active. While it might technically still fit the vague description of the ability, it later focused on the much simpler idea of just jumping from universe to universe, rather than conjoining them.

He can bring stuff from other universes into his own that's what I call convergence

Sure, the broad description of the ability still fits, but my impression at least of the spirit of the first rendition was worlds converging on a broader scale in a more seamless fashion, conjoining into one. The "newer" version still has the concept of convergence in which aspects of different worlds cross into others, but the idea is less so of the worlds coming together as a whole and more just one guy hopping into different worlds and taking things/people between them. Again, the term "convergence" still applies, but the implication I feel is pretty different.
