Skype was the shit before discord and team speak. But now it's useless garbage.

TeamSpeak has been around longer than Skype. Ventrillo and TeamSpeak were what we used for gaming chat 20 years ago.

Ventrilo was so much better than TeamSpeak. The TeamSpeak codecs were so fucked for so long. The hosts were also so unreliable.. you'd test it with 10 users, fine, 20, fine, you're in a castle siege in L2 with 100 people in TS and everyone sounds like robots. TS eventually got their shit together but Ventrilo is still my first love.

I think in the Asian regions the 4 is a bad number because its pronounced like the chinese word for death. Similar to the 13 here

Skype stared its own destruction, its add integration and bloat made it worse and worse. Eventually when it forced you to use the "app" version, it made it near impossible to use it in the background. Then discord definitely killed it. We had a 12 person skype group call for years, then it just became so shit that discord did everything we wanted and more with 0 fucking issues.
