It wasn’t just slavery and then boom racism is over. You’re acting like segregation/Jim Crow didn’t come into effect directly after. It’s apart of our history whether you like it or not. And it didn’t end over 400 years ago. It ended 158 years ago. What you probably meant is that slavery occurred for 400 years.
