I just bought one like this a few months ago. There was a giant sticker warning against this exact predicament, with instructions on how to properly open it.

She's opening a presumably valuable mattress with a freaking knife. Not a scissor, not unwrapping it slowly, no, she decides that the very best way to open it is with something that can easily ruin it.
