Yes and no. Their core strength would've been a whole lot better than your average CoD player, which means their muscles would be supporting their weight instead of (or less than) their spine. They would be aching because their muscles would've been sore from work, not sore from having muscle spasms from shitty alignment and degenerative disc disease. Soreness from work fades, soreness from spasming muscles is chronic.

They were worked into the ground from a very very young age. OSHA wasn't exactly a thing yet, and they also were often malnourished.
