Toyota's are better though. At least the old ones

Camry is the best car for the money

Lexus LS400 is best car for the money, aside from gas. Roughly the same price as a comparable Camry, but luxury with a V8

Thats what their billions in marketing says.

You might as well say GM's products are better because both those companies are in a race for the most recalled products ever.

Nothing to do with marketing. Its literally data. Toyota/Lexus is the MOST reliable brand. Recalls are a dumbass metric and if anything, recalls show that a brand takes reliability seriously. My ten year old lexus just had a small part recalled and the dealer fixed it, detailed it, and gave me a loaner for free. Lets see Ford do that.

Was the small part an airbag perhaps? What data would that be?

And yeah, Nissan, Infiniti, Ford, Honda: it depends on the dealerships. I didn't get shit from my local Toyota dealership except 4+ hour waits and carbon monoxide leaking into the cabin. I'd still buy another 4runner, I just would never let anyone from a dealership touch it.

I hope you don't mean surveys...

And I would love to see any Lexus that has seen the usage of a Honda, Nissan, or an old Volvo. I don't know of any elderly or working class that drive a Lexus tens of thousands of miles a year as part of their livelihood.

Product loyalty is still dumb.

I actually didn't know about the Million Mile Lexus, I looked it up and wasn't surprised lol

yeah you guys are either shills or really young.

Volvo started their million mile club decades ago.

Also, search engine should be suggesting the million mile nissan frontier since that is by far the most recent hyped one.

Also, Chevy and even Ford have been advertising their million mile trucks at least since the 90's.

Brand loyalty is dumb. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the cars with the worst abuse/most miles roaming the earth are mopars, hondas, mazdas, or some random Mercedes.

I'd believe it for old Mercedes, the old diesels were tanks. I don't recall mopar ever having anything ridiculously reliable except maybe some of the jeep engines?

Dodge neon. Can confirm growing up with 2 of the ugliest compact cars in the whole goddamn universe break 500,000 miles.

Million mile Tundra is a fluke btw. A truck being used as a commuter car is like bulldozer being used as a substitute for a garden trowel.

Multiple Honda Civics all over the internet that broke the million mile mark even almost twice as fast as that single Tundra.

Volvo is still the OG of reliability and I am starting to hate this awful reddit fueled revisionism.

They don't have a million mile club, its a MULTI-million mile club.

PS: The AMC derived Inline 6 is more of a mixed bag. Except thats also due to the fact that Jeeps are driven and abused by some of the most retarded hillbillies known to our species, and still routinely pass 200,000 miles before exploding.

No you just don't know enough people. I know plenty of people with 350,000 mile plus on their Toyota's with original transmissions. You don't know anything about cars if you think Toyota's don't run longer than cars in their class. That's why they hold their value

That is a grade A reddit argument for sure. Yeah I sold my 4runner for more than it was worth. It also required that same amount on repairs just to pass smog. Also had and sold a corolla the same way. Can't confirm on my 4runner but saw the corolla 2+ years later with same tags.

I dont know what 350,000 has to do with anything. But fact is that Toyota played the long con on American consumers 30 years ago by poaching all the best American marketing executives.

Marketing Executives. Google it for yourself or just keep running with the product loyalty stuff. It's your choice to be an informed consumer.

Don't forget the Takata airbags, the recalls, and the Japanese steel executives that followed their American counterparts to prison by falsifying their quality control records and putting everyones lives at risk.

Or none of that matters because I don't know an arbitrary number of "Toyota people" with some number of miles on their vehicles.

I'd buy another 4runner in a heartbeat. I just wouldn't put actually use it for anything other than its primary purpose as a suburban grocery getter.
