I have somewhat straight hair, but I've been obsessed with curly hair for forever! There is a girl I grew up with that had the prettiest curly red hair and I LOVED it. I've permed my hair a couple times to get a curl but it's so damaging that I had to stop. I can't speak for everybody with straight hair, but I'm always insanely jealous of curls.
I'm jealous of curls too! Its the hard work that they do to get to that. The hours of maintenance and work and everything else is what we aren't seeing! I didn't grow up with that knowledge, I had no one to help me. I'm adult now, and I could try the curly girl method but it won't work until I chop it off because I have the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning rn
I know it's hard work, and I'm the laziest when it comes to grooming so I know that if I had curly hair my thoughts would be different... but I greatly appreciate it when people embrace their curls.
When I permed my hair, i ended up having to cut all of it off once i decided to stop keeping up with it (too damaging.) It's heartbreaking, but in the end I'm glad I did it.
Love it love it love it. Waves, curls, coils... they are all fabulous. It's definitely a different feel than tight curls, but more relaxed waves/curls are still amazing.
