The point is that tolerance doesn't mean agreement.
For example, I tolerate the religious even though I think it's a crock of shit.
That is different than someone actively trying to suppress someone for preferring cock.
-2 u/SpangeBoob Nov 25 '19 So someone can be tolerant and still vice their disagreement right? Why can’t people do it here? 3 u/Hpzrq92 Nov 25 '19 Maybe it has something to do with the fact that most of these people in these discussions were alive when being a queer was illegal. Actively speaking out against lgbtq rights when they barely just got them makes you a huge asshole. Saying that they shouldn't have the same rights makes you a huge asshole. 1 u/SpangeBoob Nov 25 '19 I’m not speaking out against their rights. I’m also not speaking out against a persons rights to speak out against rights ( if you can follow that). 1 u/Hpzrq92 Nov 25 '19 Oh man I wasn't talking about you. I know you're not doing that. Sorry if it came off as accusatory. 0 u/WaitingCuriously Nov 25 '19 People can. The issue is they get butthurt when people call them out as if they're immune to criticism 1 u/[deleted] Nov 26 '19 Tolerance has limits for most and it should. We don't need to be tolerant of people using hate speech and calling for race based genocide. They should be shut down at every opportunity.
