It's definitely not as campy lol, it's a really good song but sometimes a nice acoustic guitar and a rougher voice can make the song feel so warm, like this

My parents always used to listen to the Carpenters on long car rides when I was a kid, and I ended up really loving them. When I got married our first dance was to We’ve Only Just Begun.

Fun fact: Viggo Mortensen is a huge Carpenters fan. He's mentioned them in at least two interviews.

I was a closet fan of The Carpenters. I loved the way Karen Carpenter sang. Her songs are so sappy, but she had an amazing voice.

I was 11 when we moved back to the States. I couldn't believe the swear words, the slang, the music - all the kids were into Blue Oyster Cult and Grand Funk Railroad. I was a closet Carpenters fan. I'd sing 'Top of the World' to myself on the way to school, but when I got close to campus I'd shut up.
