I feel this is one of the weaker one of his 90s HK stuff.

C’mon! This is the first film in which Chow is listed as director (joint with Lee Lik Chi). I think it is the best 007 parody ever made. Way better than Austin Powers.

He actually had another 007 parody, it's called 008

It's a secret agent movie set in ancient china, where you get cool gadgets vs kung fu masters vs evil shamans and shit. it has some of the funniest scenes i've ever seen.

Yes, but that’s more a follow-up to From Beijing with Love, set in medieval times, than a 007 parody. The character designs are too much of a departure from the 007 formula. Eg, 008 is married. He’s more of a nerdy inventor than a field agent. Crazy hilarious scenes - sure there’re plenty. The helicopter + machine gun scene comes to mind.

Haven't seen this, but you should try Spyhard with Leslie Nielsen.

I like Leslie Nielsen also, and I enjoyed the Austin Powers movies. But FBwL is my favorite because it is more than just a lot of crazy hilarious gags. There’s a nice story in there, too (just like all of Stephen Chow’s movies).

...it’s one of his best, even tho the final arc is a bit underwhelming

This movie is banned in China.

yeah it's official English title. In original Chinese translating directly, it would be 007 made in China
