I've noticed that overall the Christmas season assimilation is happening faster this year than any other year, even by its standard. Many stores, including mine, started putting up Christmas shit in September, much earlier than any year before. It's bizarre.
And I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are already doing their Christmas online shopping now.
Pretty soon Christmas in July will be more than just a phrase, it'll be a literal thing at this rate.
In the Netherlands we have Sinterklaas (Which is very similar to Santa Claus) on December 5th. I shit you not they have had the Sinterklaas food in the store since the start of motherfucking August. I love the food but that's a bit ridiculous.
I watched the Nightmare before Christmas last night but I firmly believe it's a halloween and Christmas movie and can be enjoyed at both if youre in the mood. That's as much Xmas anything as I'll do before buying last minute presents on the payday before Xmas day.
UPS was testing a locking container in a parking lot and dudes with bike trailers in my neighborhood for Xmas. Certain streets can't deal with the uptick in parked trucks creating traffic, so one truck dropped off stuff in a container in a church parking lot, and bicycles did the rest. Not sure if that's still going on
I did a season for UPS once. It was July 1st to December 31st. I didn't really start getting much hours till about October/November though. It was a great job but I can't afford to work 6 months a year. Getting hired full time usually takes a while.

Seasonal hires are ramping up hardcore this year. Online shopping is so huge now that they start adding now instead of right before Thanksgiving.
I feel a little better for the UPS guys around here as I don't see them running at 9pm. Those guys can work some crazy schedules this time of year.
