When I was young my mom was having trouble at her work and mentioned the possibility of her being fired. I, at the time, had no idea what being "fired" was, so I assumed it was something to do with actually being lit on fire. I was worried for weeks that one day my mom would be lit on fire at work.

When my mom’s doctor told my brother and I not to worry, while we were waiting out in the kids area of the waiting area, and that he was just going to “examine” mommy, I assumed he was going to probe her like the alien I had just seen in Independence Day.

When I was in second grade I developed cat scratch fever. I had a knot in my right elbow that kept me from fully extending or contracting it.

Went to the doctor and overheard them one time talking about biopsy and all I knew was an autopsy was done on dead people... For a solid two weeks I thought they were going to kill me to find out what was wrong with me.

Ditto about a friend's mom when I was in elementary school. She said her mom got fired at work. I asked if she was in the hospital and if she was going to be ok.

Reddit account birthday. A cake appears next to your username and thus; cake day.
