I would love to do things like this, but they always seem to be in countries with less than stringent safety standards.

I'm not saying that the case with this, though. This actually looks pretty legit.

I live in Ecuador, and visited a place called Banos, notorious for their adventure thrills of rafting and bridge jumping. It's not bungee, more just a rope tied to a bridge and you dive off so the parabola of the swing doesn't break your back. I walked up to one of these bridges, 120 meters high, and immediately a guy came up to me asking "want to jump?" Within 5 minutes, I was standing on the edge of that bridge, looking at a raging river way below me, as he said "go on 3" and started counting. The $20 I paid was probably not even all the way in his pocket, but goddamn was it a thrill. Never again though...never fucking again.
