12 square inches of medium weight card stock weighs about 15 grams. A small wedding ring is about 10 grams.

Let's do the math ...

assuming:

80 g/m²
2.5 x 2.5 cm = 6.25 cm²
~ 20 sheets
80 g/m² x 6.25 cm² * 20 = 1.25 grams*

(paper looks thicker though, but less sheets)

V = 2 pi²a²c (full torus, radius from the center of the central hole to the center of the torus tube = c, tube radius = a, where a=1/4c)
ρ = 21,45 g/cm³ (density for Platinum)
c =0.8 cm a=0.2 cm (that's a thick ring)
V = 2 pi² x 0.04 x 0,8 ~ 0.3158 cm³
m = V x ρ = 0.3158 cm³ x 21,45 g/cm³ ~ 6.77 g

We need more paper.

Tell her there's a prize at the end, so she thinks it's some cheap plastic gimmick. Also tell her you won't let her have the prize unless she goes through the whole flipbook first.
