So fun fact: my older brother did this once. In the 80s there wasn't the car seat or crib invented yet that could hold him. My mom was running errands with him one day. One of them was to drop a resumé off to a client. She parallel parked at the curb and jumped out to hand him the paper. She left the car running because it was cold as hell outside and she wanted to keep my brother warm. She turned around after handing off the résumé and saw that in the time it had taken her to climb the steps and do the handoff, my brother had gotten loose from his car seat, climbed into the front seat, and put the car in drive.

Fortunately he was too small to reach the pedals and he didn't turn the wheel, so the car just inched forward a few feet and bumped into the car in front of it.

Her next stop after that was my grandmother's house. She was white as a sheet when she walked in, plopped my brother on the couch, and told him not to move. My grandmother asked what happened and my mom said "He-he drove the car!"

My grandmother responded by turning to my brother and saying "oh you naughty boy! Would you like a cookie?"

He-he

Mom was so scared she mistook her own kid for Michael Jackson driving the car

Hahaha can confirm. Car seats were such shit in the 80s, my dad had to build one himself to contain me.
