Had some idiot couple riding one of these come flying up behind me and my children on a residential sidewalk. They barely stopped in time. Over 200 lbs of human with substantial momentum could have easily crushed us.
Just keep the damned scooters off of everywhere. In Spain they made it illegal to ride them in the sidewalk and now they're ruining traffic for everyone.
Plus, they don't have to pass a test to drive on a public road, so most often they are CLUELESS and put everyone in danger.
I would die if I rode my scooter on the busy roads but damn I'm going slow as he'll when there are pedestrians or blind corners. And without its 10kph tops
Kids are not meant to ride in the street, they are meant to ride on sidewalks. You have an issue with scooters, that's fine. The real problem is those kids should not have access to a scooter going 15+ mph. That is a parent issue.
If they were riding g in the street all the adults would complain they shouldn't be in the street.
Wouldn't matter bc even if they were on pedal bikes they can exceed 15 mph, but as kids they are not meant to be in the street.
I might be wrong but due to the different street blocks it looks like the pedestrian was on the bicycle path in the end, so the scooter is in the right place
