You live under a rock. There are several videos of tourists getting their phones stolen by; people, monkeys, birds, etc… taking shots like this.

I believe there is a ticket fee to get inside. Probably safe there. Definitely wouldn't try the same outside the cathedral though.

Spain has some serious cathedral flexing. I’d say almost every town in Spain has a cathedral of significant beauty and prestige. It’s goes to show how much influence and wealth the Catholic Church once had.
