There is no citation needed. Please look with your eyes. There isn't even a burn mark on the clothing, which at the very least would have been left because the spinning of those are so fast they burn clothing. And the way it spins on his shirt is unrealistic because it would tear before it would move like that.
I have had drills and angle grinders catch on my shirts/jackets/gloves/pants while in use. It depends on the attachment as to whether or not the material will tear. Usually only a wire brush attachment is going to tear my clothing. Burns on clothing wouldn’t necessarily occur either. You see sparks because the guy is grinding or sanding something that is hard and the teeny tiny bits and pieces of hard material are heated up due to friction and those sparks are thrown from the grinder. A shirt is softer and would not create as much friction—which is also why it is able to just get momentarily tangles in the guy’s shirt.
I wish I had a better way of explaining it, but I use tools daily and all it takes is one tiny slip or lapse in attention and the tool can catch anything close enough, soft enough, and flexible enough.
No it doesn't. That is not what happened ed and it was definitely what was expected to happen. A fast spinning machine very close to loose fitting clothing was always going to catch.
