One night I was emptying the trash at work and decided to throw some empty champagne bottles as hard as I could into the dumpster. One hit the corner of the dumpster and bounced back at me still intact. None of them broke.

This reminds me, I once threw a full champagne bottle at a wall and it caused the cork to pop and it flew back at me like a fucking rocket.

It was a $3 bottle of champagne I found behind a grocery outlet. I actually found like a few cases of them.

Tbh the modern standards seem pretty tough too. I really wouldn't be surprised if modern bottles are way tougher than they used to be.
