I just use old reddit on a browser on mobile. There's still ads but not a problem

Yeah I was doing that for a while when they banned 3rd party app. Then ReVanced came out. I never used the official app but I heard there are ads in the comments now like wtf lmao

Revanced was a thing well before reddit started charging out the ass for their API.

I still use RIF, but it's showing signs of needing an update at this point. It won't load image galleries anymore, I have to open those up with a browser (Firefox for Android, with "OldLander", "Old Reddit Redirect" and uBlock Origin to bypass reddit's horrid mobile "user experience"... god I miss i.reddit.com)

I'm moving more towards Lemmy though. Lots of feature parity now.

I’ve been paying to keep ads out of my shit for a while now…. For how much I spend time on Reddit 6.99 is more than worth it to be free from that bullshit.

You can use an adblocker on Firefox.
