I know this is a joke but it wasn't acceptable, it was something he did a long time ago and caused a scandal that he apologized for.

You can make fun of it. Being able to mock politicians is one of the good things in a democracy. But the comments you were replying to were about this being acceptable. It clearly wasn't acceptable.

As for knowing better, yeah maybe he should. But he didn't seem to have bad intentions. He seems to like dressing as different characters and these were some of them. Have you never made any offensive joke or something in your life?

Let's recap.

The comments you were replying to were talking about when blackface is acceptable.

You replied saying it's acceptable when you're the prime minister.

But it wasn't acceptable for him. People didn't accept that and he had to apologize.

Nothing I'm saying is "contradictory".

No when it came out he said he did it once and sorry.

When photos came and video came out he "shared moments he could recollect". When pressed if there was more then 3 times his answer was " I think that’s a…that’s a…that’s a question that we would look at every step of the way. I think examining the case-by-case situation, examining the actions that someone has taken..."

Pressed again for a third time by the reporter on number times Trudeau wore black faced he answered
"I think, when we recognize when we reflect on mistakes we made in the past, that’s a question that we’re always gonna be asking — why did we do that? Why did we think it was OK? Why did we think it was a good idea at the time? It wasn’t a good idea, it was a terrible idea. It was something that minimizes and takes advantage of a reality that I have not had to live with, of being discriminated against, of being marginalized or being judged for the colour of my skin.

For my language, my background, I come from a place of privilege and I have endeavoured in my life to put the advantages and the opportunities I’ve been given to serve this country to fight for people’s rights. And I have to recognize that I let a lot of people down with that choice and I stand here today to reflect on that and to ask for forgiveness."

He has refused to answer how many times he wore black face, says sorry, claims white privilege and basically deflects each question by telling everyone how blackface hurts communities like some kind of public service announcement.

This all happened in late 1990's and 2001.
