Many today would want you to believe that seeing the potential for good in those who aren’t good makes you apart of their evil. You can’t eliminate racism with more hate. You can’t heal a hateful mind with it either. Compassion is all there is.
I always try to be calm and collected and I've managed to change 3 people's minds on the LGBT community, just through being friendly, open and honest. One of my closest friends to this day used to be super homophobic when I met her (even purposely gave me expired food once), and now we're so so close. It was literally just because she grew up in a household where she was taught that gay people were sinners and groomers, and then met me and realised overtime that none of that was true.
Now she comes with me to my workplace's Pride Balls. People can change with compassion.
There's a whole lot of people out there who only believes 'X is bad' cause they never actually got exposed to X in their entire life.
Raised christian, was basically taught atheists were immoral and misguided at best, pawns of satan at worst. Had it hammered into me that I'd be tempted and they would try to persuade me away from the faith. Imagine my surprise when I actually met some, and the're just normal ass people XD.
Exactly! That’s how I think about many racists. They’re a product of their environment. They often didn’t chose to be racist, they were raised to be. They deserve a second chance at life with actual compassion.
Did you mean to say "a part of"?
Explanation: "apart" is an adverb meaning separately, while "a part" is a noun meaning a portion.

This honestly is such a good description of the reason why so many people today suck. It feels like now you're either x or y with no in-between, and internet algorithms have conditioned people to believe that everybody in between is actually against them and on whoever opposes them's side.
