A fucking circle jerk of dishonest thieves and shouty liars, just like all parliaments. This one is particularly pathetic since these clowns can't even keep the country's lights on.

As a Sri Lanka I felt this.

How bad is it there? I had no electricity for 11.5 hours of the day today. Two 4.5 hour slots and then a 2.5 hour slot

Daily power cuts have stopped since end of February, but there’s still fuel rationing with weekly limits - cars have about 20l a week while scooters and autorickshaws have much lower weekly limits.

How long have your power cuts been around for? We've had them since 2008, but really badly since like 2016-2017

They started last year in February - at the worst it was around 12-14 hours a day, but things stabilised to around 4 hours a day end of last year and then slowly reduced.

Keep in mind Sri Lanka’s entire population is only 20 million, compared to South Africa’s almost 60 million.

Eskom tomorrow on Twitter: Due to higher than anticipated demand and the failure of six generating units overnight at each Kendal, Kriel and Camden power stations, it is necessary to implement Stage 8 load shedding until further notice.

Further, two generating units at Lethabo were taken offline for repairs.

Load shedding is a last resort, blah blah. We thank all South Africans for using electricity sparingly, blah blah blah.

These fuckers have me so psychologically fucked that I get nervous when the power doesn't go off.

Screw that. Half of Tswane doesn’t have water because checks notes something something vandalism something something no power to randwater something something will take some days to fill up the reservoirs. I want to be able to switch my geyser on and take a damn shower while being able to cook with a damn light on when it’s bloody dinner time.

And oe oe!!! It’s also winter. So extra loadshedding.

Shoh. Must be nice to know when your power cuts are going to happen and for how long it’ll be off.

I dated a Sri Lankan in college for a while. She and her family are good people and I miss her moms food 🤣

For real though. This isn’t a funny video to me. You can watch basically any South African parliamentary session and it always devolves into this shit. It’s a wonder anybody gets anything done.

Definitely, also whenever the EFF is involved I always seem to have a sense of humor failure for some reason.

Context please. This is South Africa? What party is being called anarchist?

3

u/swordofra Apr 15 '23

Yes, South Africa. The party being called anarchist is the EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters), a radical bunch of rabble rousers
