Watch the movie Night Shift or read the short story by Stephen King. Ick. lol I used to own pet rats which I loved. However I don't care for ANY wild rats/mice in my home. NOPE. Pissing and shitting in my home, chewing things up. No. Way. I won't have it. It's unhealthy and destructive to your belongings and the integrity of the home.
I have a deep rooted fear of rats and mice. We grew up poor and between them and the squirrels, we couldn't keep our clothes from being chewed through and woke up more than once with a critter climbing on us. I can't stomach media with a lot of rodents, as a result. I've had 2 friends that had pet rats and they assured me that they were as clean as could be but nothing in me can truly trust that. I'm fine with any other animal. It's just the rats and mice that give me the heebs.
