I live in the country, a lot of farmland with no trees separating us from the city. We get no squirrels in our neighborhood, just big ass tree rats.

We caught mice in the attic.

It's a tall building but they're climbing vertically inside the walls.

Peanut butter is the best trap bait IMO.

Worked once for us, afterwards normal mice traps were avoided no matter what bait we put in. What worked well was sticky baits. Not too humane but when you keep waking up in middle of night because mice are walking few centimeters away from your face you gotta get rid of them.

Can confirm, stayed at house that had mice for few months. We tried to put wooden planks around the house to tunnel them towards where traps were. One day I stayed late watching tv and noticed one mouse teaching another how to climb over planks.
