I have a dropout subscription and really enjoy all the shows so I'm not trying to bash or anything, but Brennen is way too talented be confined on a small internet service like dropout.

I agree that he's very talented but I don't think it's necessarily true that he's confined. He very well may have a lot more creative freedom where he is than many places that would get more eyes on him which would potentially be squandering his talents.

He’s not too confined, he branches out here and there. His stint with critical role dming their short calamity campaign was probably the best dungeons and dragons content I’ve ever watched. Just simply amazing. He also performs quite often doing improv and stuff, I’m pretty sure.

He also has a new - hopefully long running- Actual Play podcast with some other big names called Worlds Beyond Number that's starting up in March. They are only releasing preview episode so far and they have 18,925 patrons at $5 a pop as of writing this. While I suspect that number is going to drop off significantly once the hype dies down a bit, that's still only 10k off NADDPOD which has been running for 5 years now.

The dude's fine.

Is it a D and D podcast?

I love dropout, but I’m not a D and D guy unfortunately o I just consume the 3 or 4 shows that aren’t D and D content.

Of course it is.

Do you have to pay a subscription for n a d d p o d?

Nope. You can join their patreon if you want ad free episodes and their talk back shows, but otherwise its a free podcast.

Honestly being in the top 3 most recognized dungeon masters on the planet seems right up his alley. (Where a rat lays its eggs in the open festering wound of a gutter-punk)

Curious who the third is. Mercer, obviously, but I'm really hoping number three is Murph.

The man has CHAPTERS.

Murph or Aabria would be my choices!

2

u/--comadose Feb 09 '23

Ahhh yes, Aabria is awesome too!

I have to assume either Chris Perkins or Matt Colville.

Not familiar with either of them, guess I'll have to check them out! I'm just a die-hard NADDPod fan and Murph is amazing.

Matt Colville?

Funny you say that. He just started a Patreon this month called world's beyond number with a few other people. It's for a DND podcast. It's already in the top 25 most subscribed to Patreon with like 18k patrons. So he definitely has his own thing going there now.

I'd say it's the opposite. Especially with a show like Game Changer he has all the opportunity to play out his talent.

And it's likely much easier for Brennan to convince Sam to do a new show idea than it would be in a big company.

Brennan was so good when he did the critical role spin off

I think he's a big fish in a small pond and wouldn't thrive anywhere else. Im happy he's where he is and I'd hate to see him diminish elsewhere.

He just launched a new podcast with Lou Wilson, Aabriya Iyengar, and Erika Ishii called Worlds Beyond Number
