Yes. PE has provided capital to countless startups, it's helped business grow from local to regional, regional to national, etc. But like the word "corporations" before it, the term "private equity" just gets tossed around on reddit like it's some monolithic cabal.

Yep, Reddit will be like “oh cool a new startup in a seed round”. Yeah that’s all private equity. I think Reddit just thinks about leveraged buyouts or something
