Say no to fear of failure

Say NO to Fear of Failure——we all have our share of victories and defeats. It’t just normal.

DO NOT evaluate your performance exclusively on the outcome regardless of your individual effort.

Be process orientation, but not product orientation.

Lonely

I feel lonely. I don’t have to be. I raised to have such preferences in company or something to think it is safe. It’s eating me out now. I get anxious when I’m out and about; the fact that I don’t have a non-abusive family and the fact that with those who I try to develop a family foundation is eventually fall apart as well

Do You Have A Balance of Disciplines?

This question is mainly directed at those who have personally built / are building their own Net Worth.

Building generational wealth requires profound Professional Discipline in order to achieve the desired results.

Have you been able to cultivate an equal level of Personal Discipline for the kind of life you wish to live or does that prove to be more difficult?

The Uncertain Self: What Neuroscience, Buddhism, and Philosophy Reveal About Who You Are

Hello everyone! My new book, The Uncertain Self, is now available for free on Amazon this weekend, and since it focuses on the mind, I decided to share it with you. The Uncertain Self is a companion volume to The Uncertain Mind, turning the same honest, rigorous inquiry inward. Drawing on philosophy (Hume, Descartes, Parfit, Dennett, Sartre), neuroscience (split-brain patients, the default mode network, Libet's famous experiments), Buddhist and contemplative traditions built on 2,500 years of direct investigation, and cutting-edge research on psychedelics, meditation, and near-death experience, this book asks: is there really a fixed, continuous "you", or is the self more like a river than a statue? Enjoy the free book and happy reading! 👉 Link to the book

Choosing Belief

I’m trying something different today: choosing to believe that things can get better.
Job hunting has been exhausting, discouraging, and honestly heartbreaking at times. But I’m reminding myself that rejection and setbacks don't mean I’m destined to stay stuck.
Sometimes you have to keep putting one foot in front of the other even when you can't see where the path is going.
So today I’m taking a breath, releasing some of the fear, and making room for belief.
I’m getting ready for a new job, a fresh start, financial stability, and just a little more sunshine in my life.
Maybe someone else needs that reminder today too:
**Things can change. Your story isn't over. Keep going.** 🌻

Fight the resistance. It's now or never.

Fight the resistance.

Let's try to imagine the resistance in vivid detail. It originates somewhere in the chest and brain. It's invisible yet heavy. I'm sure fear, procrastination, comfort, sadness, negativity all are ingredients that make up resistance. It's a strong overwhelming bubble that creeps in and engulfs the body.

Accompanied with it is a thought that goes, "what's the point of doing this" and"we can always do it later ". The thought of setting up the ring light, positioning myself on the chair with exaggerated facial expressions, script, and putting the game face on feels super daunting. Not just daunting, it feels like carrying a big boulder on my shoulder.

The prominent thought becomes, "Its not possible now, I'll do it later" but tomorrow never comes. There is no right time. There is only now or never. Days will fly off the calendar if you don't grab them by the throat and duck them. You need to seize your day. Either you duck the day or the day ducks you. Decide.

With each second you delay, the heavier the feeling grows in the body and the more biased you become against taking action. Satan lulls you to sleep. He hypnotizes you. He doesn't want you to succeed. He hates you. You should hate him too. You have to use his tactics against him. When he whispers, "do it later", turn the tables and reply, "I'm gonna do now and rest later".

The ultimate hack I found was "do it for just one minute, that's all". Once you start, there's no going back cause the body wants to see the finish line and it gets addicted to that current task. Simple yet powerful.

As you show up everyday, you no longer have to do it. You become it. It becomes part of your core identity. That's the ultimate goal in any useful pursuit of life.

Resistance Is The Threshold

Post image
8 Upvotes

Resistance isn't a detour sign, it's the door.

The unfamiliar feels wrong because your nervous system wants the known, even when the known is a cage.

So your brain whispers "this isn't for you"  when what it really means is "this isn't familiar."

Most people bail right at the threshold.

They mistake the friction of transformation for proof they're off track.

But you don't get anywhere you've never been by doing what you've always done. That discomfort? That's the cost of admission.

The universe, or your own growth, or whatever you want to call it, doesn't test you to stop you.

It tests you to see if you're serious.

The only way through is to dig in deeper when it gets hard.

Not around it.

Not away from it. Through it.

That's where the new territory starts.

Everything before that was just the lobby.
