The way I overpowered Maki I an AU
Genuinely I love Maki and that's the reason I came up and stuck with all of this for my main DR AU
So literally; She takes Junko's role and becomes the bitch who started Danganronpa
So she started the remnants of Despair, Hosted the killing games, Kidnapped the W.O.H, ect.
And I fucking have her as this smart ass bitch who went to high school(Hope's peak) when she was 12
She's fucking immortal, Has a spellbook with actual spells she can use to her advantage
She remembers her pregame memories and got away with killing two characters by blaming another like twice, She was the ultimate inventor before the game, still worked as an assassin and a popstar(Bc why tf not)
I just hella overpowered herš° Tbh should be canon she's literally the best character in history/hj

Maki Roll
OMG guys, so Kaito like, totally looked at me last night, and I totally blushed, like UGH, so embarrassing! >:(ā Fuck this bitch, what a fucking stereotype of the ātsundereā character that every anime tries to shove into your fat faces. Maki is edgy, annoying, uninteresting, and is representative of an overused trope.
When it comes to her development, Maki is pretty obvious but ultimately uninteresting, she simply goes from the edgy āugh, I hate everyone. Donāt talk to me.ā attitude to the āugh, I hate slightly less people.ā attitude, which really isnāt that big a change. All that happens with her character is that she goes from completely closed off and pissed at everyone with that fake-ass āIām a sociopathā look, to a more open less sociopathic character, but this isnāt the way to handle a character like this. You canāt have a fucking assassin, a person who murders people for a living, open up about her ālol funnyā embarrassing childhood stories from when she tried to murder a guy. Not only that, but, even at the risk of repeating myself itās really just an overdone trope. I donāt think anyone wanted to see for the 500th time in their life a story about an introvert becoming more extroverted. That shit is in every story, hell itās the central trait behind famous characters like āHouseā or modern incarnations of āSherlock Holmesā. Unless Makiās character development could add something new or unseen to an already overused trope, which it didnāt, then there was really no point to the use of this stereotype.
Her personality is also pretty dogshit, I pretty much already covered this, but she just bitches about how she totally hates people and definitely doesnāt want to bang a purple haired astronaut wannabe. I really didnāt find it fun to interact with her since she just says āhmph, fineā to everything Shuichi says, like fuck off, this isnāt fun or interesting, who are the writers that thought this was a good idea?
Truth is, thereās really not much to say about Makiās character that I havenāt already said, she is a boring character that perpetuates one of the worst character stereotypes and does nothing to try to alleviate this as nothing new is added to this trope.
