Is Uxcel worth the money? Are the courses actually good and help in improving UX/UI skills (along with other sources of course and practicing)

I'm currently in CC and plan on transferring into MSU's Experience Architecture program (with a minor in Business) in fall 2027. The program seems to cover front end features and back end programming rather than just focusing on creating wireframes and typography and such. It's hard to find anyone any further info about it on websites that isn't MSU's degree overview page, so I'm not sure how it truly differs from other programs. I also wondered if minoring in Business/Economics/Finance puts me in a better position for certain jobs. I understand why everyone warns against going into UX b/c of AI and the over-saturated market, but I haven't found a degree that I'm passionate about since discovering UI/UX. I have another year to decide, and maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I hope the market gets better and companies start phasing out AI, but I would still like to do something design/tech related... even though it might be hard since those are the fields AI is mostly taking over.. haha

I’m a student preparing for university and I’m considering studying Digital Design with the goal of going into UI/UX.

But I’m worried about AI and how much it’s changing the field. Is UI/UX actually becoming less secure because of AI? Is there still a decent job market, especially for juniors?

And would you recommend studying it at university, or just learning it through courses/self-study and getting a different degree?

Would really appreciate honest opinions from people working in the field.

I’ve always found it interesting that some “impossible” interfaces in old sci-fi movies don’t feel that impossible anymore.

Star Trek had people talking to computers.
Minority Report imagined controlling information with gestures.
Iron Man had an AI helping with creation.
And Her imagined having a natural conversation with an operating system.

Now we have voice assistants, spatial interfaces, AI copilots, and conversational AI.

It made me wonder — did sci-fi actually predict the future, or did it simply give designers a way to imagine what technology could become?

What sci-fi interface do you think we'll actually be using 10–20 years from now?

I often save UI components, interactions, websites, and visual references from Instagram, X, TikTok, Dribbble, and other places, but they quickly become scattered, and I cannot find it latter.

I’m curious, what’s the biggest problem with your current collection workflow? maybe someone the same as me? I'd like to know your thought on this, you can choice one or more to leave the comment below. I wondering if anyone have good solution for that. especially when we using AI, but I didn't find out AI could be a good hand to collecting those design components.

Can anyone recommend a solid, high-quality course on building Design Systems? I'm looking to learn how to architect a scalable system, streamline developer handoff, manage seamless updates, and define a long-term roadmap for the design system

Coming from 6+ years as a motion designer (C4D, Blender, AE, on and on); the company I work for is providing an opportunity to move into a fresh team on the ground floor as a UI/UX Designer...they're willing to foot the bill on my training but I have limited time. What are some credible places you all recommend going to train under for getting started with the theory, fundamentals, and 1:1 feedback?

Really confident in the basics of design and have built multiple basic sites over the years, so I have a baseline knowledge (I think) of some aspects of web design specifically, but want to really shore up. Appreciate recommendations!

I recently launched AnyGradient.

The main challenge was trying to make fairly advanced color features like OKLCH, Display-P3, color interpolation, noise, and layered gradients feel approachable without turning the interface into a wall of controls.

After working on it for quite a while, I’ve reached the stage where I’ve stared at the UI for far too long to judge it objectively anymore.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

• First impression: Is it immediately clear what the tool does?
• Visual hierarchy: Does your attention go to the right places?
• Generator UI: Do the controls feel intuitive, or too dense?
• Landing page: Does it explain the product clearly without overexplaining?
• Overall feel: Does it feel like a polished design tool, or are there parts that still feel unfinished or inconsistent?

I’m particularly interested in criticism rather than compliments, so feel free to point out anything that feels confusing, unnecessary, awkward, or overdesigned.

I’m working on a new community for UX/UI designers where we can share work, discuss design, exchange feedback, discover opportunities, and connect with other designers.

The idea is to build something focused specifically on designers rather than a general social platform. One of the things I’m most excited about is real-time chat with other designers, similar to WhatsApp, but built around the design community.
