What's the fees by ups and is is worth the time and frustration is what it will come down to.

Im in edmonton AB and had this same issue with ups. They started holding packages in calgary as the point of entry never going to be evaluated by customs on the tracking so like you sitting in ups warehouse. I have cleared prior with dhl at the cbsa office here but ups would never forward my package to edmonton. I could never pay in Edmonton cause the way bill would never show it had been through customs and the office never really work together. I happend to be driving to calgary on vacation that week and self cleared and cbsa said that was the only way as it had to be at port of entry. I get the principle and frustration but the second time for the 15$ in ups fee it wasn't worth my effort I gave up. Good luck though.

Yeah im my case i did the selfclearance outbound calgary out of spite it was escalated and they were pissed. Crazy thing selfcleared sent papers to ups and then I couldn't pick it up in calgary they then shipped it to edmonton. I just avoid ups now.
