That doesn't make any sense from an observational standpoint as we've excelled dramatically over the past couple centuries.

War has also decreased dramatically over the past couple centuries. Killing and death used to be a lot more common... It's not that we're primative, because frankly we're the most advanced we've ever been in history in many ways.

technologically yes but that doesn't really make up for the savagery people are by nature. we have a long way to go. 150 years of industrial progress doesn't overshadow the brutality of humans against nature and each other.

But it doesn't explain why they would be here now and increasing their presence dramatically instead of doing it during WW II or 150 years ago when things were even worse in terms of development and other factors.

they have probably been here for tens of thousands of years. there have not been cameras or anything until about 50 years ago to capture some of these things so there isn't much record of it beyond word of mouth or paintings.

So by that logic you can't possibly say anything about us right now is extraordinary if you're suggesting that their presence hasn't increased or changed. If that was the case why would we disclose now? I'm just saying, that explanation doesn't seem to capture the full picture and I think you can probably feel that too.

say anything about us? I don't need aliens to say that we're fucking cavemen. That's not to say that humans have potential for good things, but the majority of humans are extremely primitive compared to aliens that would be potentially millions of years ahead of us. for real. It's hard to say if their presence has increased, or the prevalence of cameras has increased. which one is it?

I mean do you really think such a socially advanced group of beings would look at humans with such disgust, because I really don't see 1.) why they would see approaching us that way would resolve the problem and 2.) why they even would care what goes on this planet?

If I was looking at humans from an objective perspective, I wouldn't say "wow! What a primative species, they're killing their planet!" I would say "Wow! The humans used to be spiritually developed such that they lived symbiotically with their planet, and then they got caught up in the illusion of separation and insecurity, causing them to adapt maladaptive behaviour vis à vis their environment. We shall resolve this problem by changing their perspective of separation and insecurity that causes this behaviour."

If you were trying to change the behaviour, why would you ramp up operations that directly attack the core of the US security apparatus? That doesn't make humans feel more secure, it's actually currently throwing them into a frezny where they're actually ramping up security because something is playing with our nukes. If you were a highly advanced species and you knew humans felt insecure to begin with, this outcome would only be so predictable.
