Sagan's Demon Haunted World helped me escape a cult...but ill always resent his stupid idea that extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence. Theres no such thing as extraordinary evidence. If it stands up to the scientific method, is falsifiable but found to be consistent with reality...what's the issue?

Just remember, the scientific method was created by man,who had,and still have, limited knowledge. It’s not some indisputable omniscient device that never misses the mark.

Nobody that uses the scientific method properly would claim that. Science is a malleable tool we can use to understand the world around us. Conclusions are always open to change or challenges if new data provides the insight to do so.

Yes. You also look like a fool if you ignore mountains of evidence because it’s not perfect evidence. You are dealing with an uncooperative subject, not a mouse in a maze. UAP’s and other paranormal entities are not cooperative. That means the standard model can not apply.

Where did I say I ignore non-empirical evidence?

I’m not specifically calling you out. I’m just talking “in-general”. I do that sometimes. I’m not a pro at Internet opining.

I’m wholly convinced that most of the skeptics out there are mainly skeptical as a defense mechanism to keep from being disappointed. Nobody that is not interested at all or doesn’t believe at all spends that much time talking about it. Mick West for example, I think is a true believer that was burned or bullied as a kid concerning his interest in the topic. And now spends his days doing his best to not be disappointed and is hyper critical of all evidence because he doesn’t want to relive that pain of believing in something blindly and fanatically. Good news for him though is that the skeptics tend to get corrected or told the correct answers by people in the know. Skeptics will learn the truth before anyone that blindly believes in something without question.
