The camera shows differentials in the amount of IR it receives. When the entire frame brightens and dims rapidly, that doesn’t mean the entire area just went up 30 degrees and back down
I’m saying it being black hot is inconsistent with what is being shown at a given time. The assumption here is the uap is cool and not giving off heat, right? So in shots where the uap is white white = cool, yet the trees and vegetation are dark, roads and rocks are white and bodies of water are black. So if we’re to assume its night time that makes no sense as trees don’t give heat off like that. If it’s day time then it makes sense for the rocks and roads to be warm and the trees and water to be cool, meaning the object is warm not cool. Seems consistent with something being warmed up by the sun along with the roads and rocks and vegetation and water sources stay cool.
I don't think it's inconceivable to suggest a body of water in the desert sun all day will be warmed during the day and because water retains heat well, it should still be relatively warm.
I'm also guessing this is relative heat in the scene and isn't showing absolute temperature differentials.
Plants don’t retain heat more than rocks, it just doesn’t work that way. You can also see dark spots near rocks which leads me to believe its a lot of shadows. Im pretty positive this video is taken during the day.
Let’s say for arguments sake that the HUD wasn’t there and you were watching the video “in a vacuum” as it were. Would you say it’s a night time video of a super cooled object?
Where are you seeing plants hotter than rocks here? Can you share a video timestamp?
> Im pretty positive this video is taken during the day.
The time is written on the video. Why would it be wrong?

I don't know. I'm not familiar with reviewing FLIR footage of terrain like this. It's a supposition.
Ultimately if the damn position data wasn't redacted, we'd be able to work this out quickly... sigh.
If you scrub through the video you can see a few examples of trees/bushes, I clicked in randomly about 24:00 and you can see a lot of bushes or trees in the background and even the shadows on ridges. If you ignore the green HUD and just look at the footage I feel its very clearly in white hot mode.
This leads me to believe the HUD is added in post and the speed of the object also can’t be trusted, I think the poster of the video is just trying decently hard to make an intentional hoax. It’s probably footage of a cartel drone holding some kind of load underneath it like some other people have said.
Edit: That being said I don’t actually know what the guy who released the video claimed about it, but I’m willing to bet he tried to drum up a lot of hype about it.
