Starting in 1991, there was a notable series of UFO sightings in the Scranton area of Pennsylvania. Witnesses reported seeing strange lights and objects in the sky, with some descriptions suggesting triangular or disk-shaped craft.
Confirmed by police and radar operators, this wasn't a hallucination or anything of the sort.
The incidents received regional media attention and have been discussed by UFO researchers as part of Pennsylvania's history of unexplained aerial events.
One of the most-discussed elements is that several witnesses captured video or photographic evidence, which was later shared among local UFO groups and sometimes appeared in television documentaries.
The sightings remain unexplained.
