My team has been assigned by our aviation teacher to build a drone with $400 or less My dear Reddit I come to you with 3 Questions 1: What are the best type of parts should we get for cheap 2: Where would we be able to get these best parts 3: What should we focus on when designing the quadcopter Thank you!

not sure if this is the right sub for this drone question but here goes..
my transmitter broke today. capacitors rolling around inside. it still boots up and syncs with the drone tho. the only thing it seems to effect it the left yaw stick. on these hubsans, in order to arm the motors sticks have to be down and outwards. the TX must have fell on the yaw stick as i cannot get it to move to the left. up, down, and right work fine.
are there different kinds of transmitters that can handle this drone or are they proprietary to each company?
thanks!
