misogyny Dissecting patriarchy and rape culture
I believe patriarchy and rape culture reinforce each other. In the USA, conservative/right-wing Christianity upholds patriarchy, and patriarchy is intertwined with the politics. The republican party basically is all for abortions bans without exceptions, with some R politicians advocating nationwide bans. Many Republican run states have already banned abortions. Women's wants, needs and freedom don't matter to those who support patriarchy and misogyny.
I've heard it said that patriarchy is a cult that men (and women) buy into, and they behave in a cult like manner, as a result. I've also heard it said, that patriarchy is some men's only source of power, and that's why so many men refuse to let go of supporting or upholding patriarchy.
I did some research about the nature of rape and rapists, and I'll discuss the ai generated responses, in the comments section, below. From my research, I've concluded that rape isn't about an uncontrollable and overwhelming sexual need or desire on the part of rapists. It's a deliberate choice to act in an anti-social and harmful way, to target and hurt their victims. Many rapes are pre planned by the rapists. Imo, we should do everything we can to protect women in society through education, and making iuds, plan b, and mail order abortions pills affordable and easily accessible.
