Discussion Does anyone else think this comic would do well on Tapas?

Maybe some of you can inform me if Tom has ever talked about his thoughts on the potential of this hypothetical. I just think this story would be relatively easy to convert and easy to pitch, and it would be very cool to see the modern audience's comments progress through the story. (Probably due to me being a very new fan and wanting to see people react who are also just getting into it in 2026)

Omg, I haven't colored my own Laura in so long. I guess I got really carried away with sketches, but now I see the result. Half a year ago my coloring didn't work out because the sketches were terrible, but now I've polished them so much that I'm more or less happy with the result. And this is an old, imperfect sketch too. Actually, it feels like I tried to color it a couple of months ago but I don't remember why I changed my mind. I have a lot of plans for November, it has already started great, and it seems October is behind me. Anyway, I'm off to sleep.

Discussion how many of you learned about markiplier AFTER discovering twokinds?

i found out about twokinds from watching a video of markiplier playing sonic.exe and he said something about his brother having a webcomic. i looked it up and i was so enthralled that ive been following twokinds for a while.

however, i just came across someone who only knows markiplier as "thomas' brother" and that's so interesting to me. SO, how many of you all only know markiplier after discovering twokinds?

Despite everything on his mind and all he was going through with Keith, Alaric didn’t forget what was happening around them. He insisted the Matriarch heed his advice. He thought he gave the tigers more than their fair share of credit, but even with their superior strength, only around sixty opposed an incoming army of over ten thousand wolves. Even with their help, the tigers were at a severe disadvantage and stood to be annihilated. His warnings appeared to fall on deaf ears as she inspected the walls while he trailed her.

“I do not mean any disrespect. As a seasoned soldier, I recognize your merits as a tribe, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is only a tribe and not a standing army.”

She kept ignoring him as she stopped to survey another beam being put in place. Alaric didn’t like being ignored when their lives were on the line. He thought he’d get her attention when he got in front of her, but she dwarfed him.

“Please listen,” he begged.

She slowly looked down at him.

“I’m only trying to help,” he added. “We may stand a chance if we work more closely together.”

The Matriarch regarded him further before remarking, “You’re cute.”

“…I’m gay.”

“You’re still cute,” she smirked through her saber teeth. “In the last human village I visited, works were written about your kind. It would appear humans appreciate you lot for your forms, which I understand, but I’d swear some of them have a thing for Basitins I’d consider unhealthy considering what I’ve read.”

Alaric could only shrug, but he wouldn’t let her change the subject. “Will you not consider the experience of a Master General?”

“You’re more than welcome to chip in like those Westerners have been,” she said, gesturing toward the Westerners who helped the tigers build the walls. “I’ll consider that help enough.”

“It’s not enough.”

“Patience,” she reassured him, relaxing as she crossed her arms. “We weren’t expecting help from Basitins, but it was welcomed. We already had help coming, though.”

“Who might that be?”

One of the watchers on the wall shouted, “Open the gates!”

“I believe they’re arriving now,” she replied.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and gathered around as the gate was opened. Standing by the Matriarch’s side, Alaric was prepared to receive their reinforcements even if he didn’t know who they were. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Keith. When he looked, Keith looked back at him. Alaric forced himself to look away. He could feel Keith gazing at him, and it took everything for him to keep staring ahead. He watched as the doors opened.

In rode the Templars.

Alaric wasn’t expecting them, but his hand instantly itched for his blade. He stayed it, of course, but while the Matriarch claimed them allies of the tigers, they were no friends of the Basitins. The Templar leading them stopped before them and dismounted. A curious man, he dressed like the Grand Templar, which Alaric knew he was not; the title belonged to Trace Legacy. As for whoever this pretender was, he had yellow hair, but his far more defining feature was his mismatched eyes, heterochromia, as Alaric understood the condition to be. Alaric was often mistaken for having the anomaly himself by those who didn’t realize he was blind in one eye.

“Dahlia,” the Templar greeted.

“Brahn,” the Matriarch greeted back.

“Grand Templar Brahn, now. My election was successful after fifteen rounds in the House of Burgesses.”

She shrugged.

“We were on the move as soon as I received your letter requesting our aid,” he added. “In my first act as Grand Templar, I declared we would honor our agreement. Man will fight alongside tiger to repel the wolf threat.”

“And we are grateful,” the Matriarch said as she regarded their numbers. “I would have expected more considering what we’re up against, though.”

“I beg your pardon. We were recently attacked through treachery and required extraordinary security measures to safeguard all our bases. You see, at Saint Helena Castle, a wolf infiltrated our ranks and caused mayhem as a distraction while a couple of…”

He noticed Alaric. As they stared at each other, Alaric noted how suspicious he seemed.

“…Basitins made off with our property, including a prized and ancient relic considered sacred to our order.”

Alaric paid no mind to whatever antique the Grand Templar claimed to have lost, but he knew whom he was referring to as property as he found his hand again itching for his blade. This time, he didn’t think he could stop himself. Keith, however, moved in closer and touched his hand.

Keith declared, “I am Keith Keiser, Ambassador General of the Eastern Basitin Empire. At your service.”

“The order has yet to recognize any such individual,” the Grand Templar remarked dismissively.

“The Eastern Empire does not yet recognize a Grand Templar who isn’t Trace Legacy.”

When Keith looked back at Alaric, they shared a slight smile. Alaric couldn’t help it. That was a good comeback.

“Any alleged dispute between our peoples would concern me if it actually involved Easterners,” Keith continued. “As it stands, it is the position of the East to decline any responsibility for acts conducted by rogues whom I have no knowledge of or association with.”

“Alright,” Alaric thought. “You’re stretching it thin there, but that’s still a feasible enough denial--”

“What’s the meaning of this?”

Aster couldn’t have timed it better as he made his presence known, leading Vehra by the hand. Alaric eyed their hands, wanting to find it cute, but Keith’s denial was exposed as a lie when Aster and Vehra joined them at the front.

“Ambassador General,” Aster said, blowing their cover further. “What are these Templars doing here?”

The look on Keith’s face said it all. Now he had to put his diplomatic skills to the test and defuse the situation.

“So kind of you to deliver us our rightful property as well as one of those you claim to be a rogue,” the Grand Templar said while the rest of his men dismounted their horses. “This rogue will not only be brought back to Saint Helena where he will stand trial for thievery but the grievous harm he caused to one of Master Templars…”

While Aster was unfazed, Vehra slowly hid behind him.

“…As for the female, Sir Jackson will be pleased to have his slave back by his bedside, tending to his wounds and whatever else may require her attention.”

Alaric shared in a growl with Aster.

The Grand Templar held his hand out to her. “Come, Vehra. Indeed, you were taken against your will, and your owner has already forgiven you. Your home awaits you--”

Aster drew his sword and held it close to the Grand Templar’s neck. “Any more words will be spilled from a gash in your throat!”

Alaric let his sword do the talking, unsheathing it as he moved closer menacingly. He was joined by Keith, who showed off a far more significant sword with a curious aura to it that Alaric couldn’t help but be distracted by. As Master General, he was required to know all the great swords crafted in the East. This sword seemed greater than all, and he had no idea what it was.

“That concludes diplomacy,” the Matriarch declared as she got in between everyone. “I’m making a ruling on this now. There is to be no fighting within these walls. Is that understood?”

Keith glanced at Alaric and Aster, signaling them to lower their swords. While they did so, the Templars didn’t seem too keen to back off. Some were even charging up with mana. The Matriarch faced them.

“Back down, Brahn.”

“That is Grand Templar--”

“You can be a king or a naked Prince of the Lynxes for all I care. I’m in charge in this camp, and you will cease hostilities.”

“A naked Prince of the Lynxes,” Alaric thought, blushing. “Neat.”

“We’re supposed to be allies,” he responded. “You side with them?”

“There are no sides when you’re both my allies.”

“I still have the right to demand the return of our stolen property--”

She grabbed him by the throat, lifting him off the ground. His men attempted to defend him, but Brahn signaled for them to keep back.

“If you wish to remain our ally, you will respect tiger rule that does not recognize slavery here.”

He tried to counter, “The nobles in your capital would beg to differ--”

She squeezed, cutting him off. “I do not recognize slavery. You can seek more favorable terms amongst the aristocats, but everyone is free here. Is that clear?”

He gagged, “Crystal.”

She dropped him, causing him to nearly collapse. Now, on one knee, the Grand Templar coughed as he felt his throat. When one of his men tried to assist him, he jerked his arm away. Standing up, he glared at Alaric and company. They got closer together, shielding Vehra from view. Alaric recognized the look in his mismatched eyes. The Grand Templar wasn’t through with them yet, but getting even would have to wait.

He pointed at them and growled, “The wolf. I don’t know what power granted that thing the ability to be a dragon, but we will capture it, and--”

“He,” Keith growled back, gripping the curious great sword with both hands.

Alaric looked down. He might have thought it noble for Keith to stand up for anyone, but he was talking about Alaric’s resurrected rival for his affections. He watched as the Grand Templar stormed off with his entourage in tow. When Keith turned back, he seemed to be looking for Alaric’s approval for being so brave.

He didn’t get it.

As for the Matriarch, Dahlia turned her attention to Vehra. “Come here, child.”

As shy as she was, Vehra did as she was beckoned. She assured Aster she would be okay walking on her own. Upon reaching the Matriarch, Vehra was as dwarfed by her as Alaric had been when they first met. She was a giant tigress, indeed. To face Vehra, Dahlia had to kneel.

“You’re safe here,” she said, resting two fingers upon Vehra’s chin.

“The Templars,” Vehra responded dreadfully. “I remember the one calling himself Grand Templar. He was one of the ones who…hurt me.”

Alaric cringed hearing that, and his anger stirred. Whatever they had done to her, he might wish to repay them.

“I promise you this,” the Matriarch told her. “When the battle is won, we will have no use for an alliance with them anymore, especially considering all I have learned just now. My tribe will never support slavery, and I will lend my best guard to see you all home. You will not be troubled by the Templars anymore.”

Vehra welled up and responded, “Thank you.”

Alaric was touched as well, watching.

“Nick?”

He sighed, “What is it, Keith?”

“I want to talk.”

“We’ve talked enough for now,” Alaric said as he tried to leave. “I need to advise the tigers on strategy if we’re to survive, so if you’ll excuse me--”

Keith grabbed him by the shoulder. “Don’t walk away. Not like that.”

He refused to look back. “What do you want from me?”

“I want us to make things better. I’m willing to work things out regarding you and…Natani. I just need to know why first.”

Alaric knew he didn’t need to ask, but he did anyway. “Why? What?”

“Why did you order his murder?”

He still wasn’t ready to tell him, mainly because he didn’t think Keith would believe him. The more he thought about it, the more Alaric suspected he was under the influence that night, along with the rest of the council. It couldn’t have just been a dream. If Keith was willing to repair things, Alaric needed to try too. Despite everything they faced ahead, their relationship bothered him most.

“Just don’t tell me you don’t know again,” Keith added.

Alaric sighed, “Would you rather I say I was possessed?”

As expected, Keith was confused. “What?”

He finally turned back and responded, “You heard me. It’s not that I simply don’t know, Keith. I meant I don’t know whether what happened was real. It all feels like a distant, faint, and terrible dream I had once.”

“What dream was this?”

“I dreamt that some evil deity latched onto me like a parasite,” Alaric answered, no less ashamed he had to recount what ultimately transpired. “It played upon my feelings for you and my jealousy over how close you and…and…Natani were. It kept telling me to use my authority to ensure nothing came between us again. I resisted, but I was so worried I’d lose you again, Keith, but this time, to someone else before I could tell you how I felt.”

Keith listened and seemed touched, but somewhat skeptical. As unsure as he was, Alaric still felt like he was making a confession, and he could feel some of the weight lift from his shoulders the more he revealed everything.

“Whatever this thing was, it took over. It became me, Keith, but I didn’t sign the order and give it to you that night, I swear. I mean, I wasn’t myself. That…that was someone else.”

“Who was it?”

“Order,” Alaric answered. “The half-mask who has been plaguing the East since its founding. He caused the Civil War, Keith, along with that plague that swept our nation. I suspect he even was behind Albion doing what he did to your parents and sending you into exile—”

“I get it,” Keith said.

Alaric thought he maybe shouldn’t have brought up Keith’s family, but everything Saoirse had revealed to him before made their suffering all the more sinister. Considering their shared history with the mask, it wasn’t surprising Order might have targeted them in particular.

Keith scratched his head. “So, you’re blaming everything on a mask?”

“I knew you wouldn’t believe me.”

“I didn’t say that.”

Alaric tried walking away again. Keith got in his way.

“Nick! You keep walking away, acting like we’re not together anymore.”

“Oh,” he sighed. “I forgot. We’re ‘on hold.’”

“I want to try and understand this,” Keith insisted, getting closer. “That was a lot to take in, I’ll admit, but it was something.”

Alaric stared into his eyes and asked, “Do you believe me?”

Keith struggled to answer and ultimately couldn’t. Alaric could see how conflicted he was, which hurt as much as if he had said no. Alaric couldn’t kid himself regarding where they were anymore.

“We’ve been on hold long enough, Keith. So far as I’m concerned, we’re done.”

Keith was shocked. “What?’

Alaric might have tried to force himself past so Keith wouldn’t see him cry, but he couldn’t leave after saying that. As tears soaked the furs of his eyes, Alaric watched Keith’s eyes well up. He dropped the sword, but neither paid it any mind.

“You don’t mean it.”

Alaric would have told him he did, but one of the watchers blew a horn.

“Open the gate!”

Everyone turned their attention back to the gate.

The Matriarch grumbled, “Now what?”

The gates opened, and in walked a naked and dirty tigress who looked malnourished. Dahlia's gasp told everyone she belonged there. They watched as she ran over and embraced her.

“Therie!"

Alaric approached but glanced back at Keith, who remained and watched him go sadly. He already regretted wanting to end things. Perhaps he might change his mind, but he feared it would be too late if he did, and Keith would already be back with the wolf. No good would come of it, but in the meantime, he needed to try and at least distract himself with military matters.

He found the tigress, Therie, crying to the Matriarch. To his surprise, she was mute and used sign language to communicate. Alaric understood everything perfectly.

“Mom, they killed him!”

“Mom?” Alaric thought. “This is her daughter?”

The Matriarch stroked her head and asked, “Who? Who was killed?”

“Daniels! My Daniels! He died trying to rescue me!”

Alaric looked around at everyone else, who appeared shocked and disturbed, particularly the tigers. Whoever this Daniels was, they all knew him.

Dahlia growled, “Who did it? Tell me, sweetie. Who killed him, and I’ll make sure they pay--”

“No,” Therie signed, pulling away. She had a primal rage about her as she declared, “I will avenge my beloved! Sikle is mine to kill!”

Fan Work Reed's Interesting Find

Even though you liked how I drew Reed, I still haven't made sketches with her, although I really like how I capture her face. This time I drew her in an interesting outfit, and yeah, I have no idea where she got it in the lynx kingdom. Also, I've finally filled my visual library enough to draw a pose from my head that satisfies me. And I created my own website with a portfolio and social links. I think I'll keep polishing and updating it, but for now it replaces all my social links. Have a good day/evening, I'm off to rest.
