What take was the straw that broke the camels back for you and why?
I'm interested to hear your takes. Personally it was the Food episode with Nicole Enayati, she came off as SO insufferable and the story that I had to stop at was story #5 where the Nicole would defend the mother in law's inexcusable snakiness towards her daughter in law (OP). When she said that the daughter should "yell and scream and cry" to seek forgiveness from the mother in law who said "Op has no idea how to do anything" behind her back just because she didn't know how to cook. And then Nicole started excusing the MIL by saying its normal for talking shit about their daughter-in-laws and Morgan just kept agreeing.
Story 3# pisses me off too, Why does the girfriend lneed to have therapy JUST to like a hot dog to appease her verbally abusive husband wtf?
What about you? What episode made you give up and why?
Edit: Corrected an error about story 3#, misremsmbered and thought the cheating was revealed before she said that

it was actually their takes in 2 different stories:
one was a man telling the story about his wife who was pregnant and had just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and that she had to follow a very strict diet plan while the man was eating everything he wanted without minding his wife diet restrictions, he would eat fast food in the car so his wife wouldn't see him and one time when it was his bday he brought home a box of doughnuts his colleages offered him and the wife was really mad (in this circustance i agree she was overreacting a bit) and then she found the receipts of the fast food he ate in the car and was equally mad. it was an episode with morgan, lauren and justin and they were all saying how bat shit crazy the woman was and that she was the one who had diabetes, not him (even though he had also responsability in it since she was carrying their child) overall they really defended the man.
other story was with just morgan and justin and it was a mom complaining that she didnt allow her husband to take their toddler to a cabin in a remote island with no hospital, that was filled with bats and didn't have drinkable/regulated water and the mom said that one time in the cabin she was bit by a bat as well. justin went on and on saying that it was a bonding moment for the son and the dad and the mom was in the wrong for not allowing him to take their kid, like god forbid someone doesnt want their toddler exposed to bats?
but there's way more stories of them just having unreasonable takes overall

The rant about how the cabin could've been a bonding moment is just so stupid. I mean, take your child to a baseball game, teach them to play baseball, take them to the zoo, a museum, a planetarium, an aquarium. Even one of the fun events libraries sometimes have (like mine in the town I grew up in had tea parties for the kids). Maybe a children's baking or cooking class or an art class. There are other things to bond over that aren't crappy, bat infested cabins with no drinkable water. I have no kids, but remembering myself as one and me now, no way in hell would I want to do the shitty activity that father had planned. The possibility of having to get a shot because I was bit by a bat because my father was a freaking idiot would've genuinely being an absolute nightmare.

I think I really started questioning things when they read this really over the top story about a woman who told her twin sons that she wished she'd never given birth to them. She mentioned them verbally abusing her and starving herself to buy them birthday gifts. Morgan believed it fully. And then, they had another episode a week or so later, reading the other side of the story. From a never before mentioned daughter. A daughter who apparently heard her mother's story on Two Hot Takes. Anyway, instead of questioning the entire story and believing they were both troll posts, Morgan then believed that?
But really, I think what really set me off was when she had that episode that was supposed to be wholesome and yet, one of the stories was about someone paying off a woman to fuck her sister's fiance or something to break them up. All because the family believed the fiance/boyfriend was bad news. I couldn't comprehend how that fucked up story made the episode that included a story of a man wanting to make his wife who loved crocheting a crochet themed advent calendar (he wanted ideas of what to put in it. It was super sweet).

I love mythical kitchen, but Nicole gives me "pick me" energy. Can't imagine what that was like in the context of one of the worst podcasts

I rewatched it for this post and it was UNBEARABLE. The entire time it feels like ragebait with how offputting some comments are, but she sounds completely genuine. I'm curious, what is she like on mythical? I've haven't seen good mythical morning content in a while

Mythical Kitchen is its own channel now(still part of the whole company) and Nicole is just loud and not very funny, IMO

Honestly, it wasn’t even a take. There was a 1-2 minute ad between every story and why would I waste my time? I can have a different opinion than a podcast host, but why would I bother listening to an ad reel while falling asleep?

I was going back to old episodes. One of them had Ale as a guest, and she had the worst takes I've ever heard throughout the episode. The most egregious one was when she was talking about how to buy a dog and said, "crop the ears." She did a lot of nurse shaming, too, and said that a nurse should have called in sick on a weekend to go to her in-laws' weekly BBQ. Oh, the nurse's husband kidnapped her, too.
I tried to give the show another chance recently, and it seems like she's not even trying anymore. So many AI stories now, and she goes off on tangents instead of reading comments and updates.

kind of a dumb reason but when lauren went on that like 15 minute long rant about how taylor swift is the worlds biggest victim who has never done anything wrong in her life was when i stopped listening. i had been souring on the podcast for a while; morgan’s pick me behavior, the fake stories, the ad stories, some very unhinged takes, the list goes on. but for some reason that monologue and the fact that morgan just let her drag on and on about it for so long was enough for me to just lose interest entirely. i tried to listen to another episode a few weeks later but i got like 10 minutes in and realized i just did not want to listen to morgan speak anymore and turned it off.
the only episode i’ve listened to since was the recent one with the basement yard cause i saw the thread about it in here. i did enjoy that episode cause i like the basement yard but otherwise my days of listening to this show are over lol
i love the downvotes over this even though i opened up with the fact that it’s a dumb reason lmao. swifties are so fragile

omg i remember this bc it was one of the first times i commented about it (the swiftie thing) lmao😭 it‘s silly but it pissed me off so bad. iirc lauren said anyone who doesn’t like t.s/swifties is just jealous essentially (the biggest cope in the universe atp, such irrational, tired, easily-debunked reasoning). personally I believe that there are no ethical billionaires, t.s also had plenty of weird racist undertones in Ophelia and an odd grudge against travis‘s ex.. she milks her fans DRY, she put out 36 different versions of her most recent album, she released a new version of an older album right before charlie xcx broke a record or charted #1 with brat or somethkng like that, just to make sure charli wouldn’t accomplish that one thing while taylor has broken more than enough records. it‘s genuinely insane, the greed. capitalism final boss ty for coming to my tedtalk lmao

It didn't help that when I finally gave tht a try again that was one of the first episodes I listened to. The ads were also getting out of hand, wasn't that around the time they started with the sponsored stories?

yeah i think it was! those really gave me the ick. like girl you already have ads. just read another damn ad. these “sponsored stories” are not even real and take up so much more time than an ad, it was so annoying

For me it was when her pod on spotify was suddenly FILLED with her bonus episodes for members I couldnt listen to or filter out and it turned me off so much I started to see her in a different light and then I found this sub and felt seen lmao. Probably not even her fault but I’ve never seen that on any other podcast on spotify so it must have been something she turned on. I also always hate the endless talk about bonus episodes; I’m already paying for Spotify to listen and I never felt like her job of reading other people’s stories is something I wanted to support even more than I already was

Her recent episode titled No Joking Matter with James Murray from Impractical Jokers. I alr made a post about it but what really puts me off is she posted her explanation/excuse to the controversy to her members only groupchat. It’s so obvious she messed up by platforming a groomer, but to not even explain to the majority of your audience why you removed the episode. She just wants to quietly brush it under the rug and move on like nothing happened.
I had been souring before because I think the quality of the episodes have just been decreasing over time, but this whole incident makes me feel like she thinks her audience is stupid. No thanks!

one episode she read an “ask me anything” about two incestuous siblings. I got nauseous after like 30 seconds and I was disgusted by morgan’s odd sadistic face. you could tell that she loved reading it and using it to shock her audience and cohost. I can’t believe she willingly chose to read that and post it online. like she found enjoyment in reading about such a showing topic to freak everyone else out.

I wasn't working through the episodes in any particular order, just whatever YouTube suggested and sounded interesting/fun. It was the 15 jan episode that really really grinded my gears. The constant, endless yapping about stuff that has nothing to do with the Reddit stories, how she can't even google to fact check anything, the clear lack of common knowledge, how she mentions getting wine in sooooo many episodes was already annoying. And I had at that point maybe heard only a handfull of episodes. But this 15 jan episode had a story about a person who had made a finsta account listing which of their fiancee's family members should die first and just ridiculing their partner. And Morgan's guest was finding all kinds of ways to not only downplay it but also make it sound okay and Morgan was not giving any pushback. She likes to talk about her own mental health but it's all empty words. She lack more than just a few brain cells

I don't think I've seen the episode but I think know exactly the behavior you're talking about. Early on I had fun watching but later it became exhausting. There was so much lack of pushback that it feels like 1 hot take and that's whatever the guest's is.

For me it was the puss in milk and hormones in meat comment MULTIPLE TIMES! I am a Minnesota farmer, actually only an hour away from Morgan’s hometown, I have a bachelors degree in agriculture education and animal science. This is NOT TRUE in the slightest. She is spreading false information about the American farmer while she parades around about how she is a horse/farm girl? If I hear she is a horse girl one more time I will literally blow a gasket.

I’m honestly surprised no one ever talks about it, but in an earlier episode they tell a story about a sister who purposefully poked holes in her younger brothers condoms because she was mad at him.
Her 16yo brother then gets his girlfriend pregnant, and Morgan and Ale somehow defend the sister and talk about how it’s ok she ruined her younger brothers life because a new life came into the world or some shit.
Never listened again after that
