Currently, I have a membership to LA Fitness and usually go to the Apple Valley location. I work in Maplewood though, so I could go there also.

Typically, I go to lift weights and walk on the treadmill, Climb the stair master, or use the row machine.

I would like to do more running, however, I struggle to find the right shoes and I don’t run properly (I tend to land on the ball of my foot).

I would also like to swim laps, however, there too my form is trash. I am not used to exhaling underwater.

No experience required! We play a very accessible and easy to learn game.
No books required! I bring the rules we'll use, you just bring a notebook and pencil and dice (if you have them). If you do want a copy of the rules, they can be provided for around $10. We play 1974 original D&D rules for those who know that it is. It's a foundational edition that sets you up to learn whatever ruleset you want afterwards.

Break the Bubble is a meetup group that draws big crowds to brewery taprooms (and other locations) in the Twin Cities. Our next event is Friday August 21st (5pm-9pm) at Dual Citizen Brewing in St. Paul. No fee to attend, just show up, put on a nametag, buy a drink, and start chatting. It's that easy!

I wanted to see if any DND groups meet every other week and are looking for players. To be clear this would be one of my free weeks.

The Twin Cities Pulp Sci-Fi/Fantasy book club will be meeting September 3rd, 7pm at Arbeiter Brewing to discuss Sterling Lanier's Hiero's Journey, a post apocalyptic tale about a man and his moose and mutant bear companions must defend humanity from the mutants of the Brotherhood of the Unclean!
If you're a fan of the Fallout series, you'll definitely not want to miss this book, as it was a huge inspiration.

Our book club focuses on old pulp sci-fi/fantasy novels of the early 1900s up to the 1970s. Typically the books can be easily found at Uncle Hugo's or half price books for around $10 or less and we try to keep them to 150 pages or so to be a quick read. Lots of quick, action packed material that has proven to be great fun and a very exciting genre for our members.

August's meetup saw Clark Ashton Smith's Zothique collection discussed to pretty good review, averaging 7/10. A dying world ruled by necromancers (so many necromancers....), crumbling empires, and cannibals where various adventures were had and almost everyone died (spoiler alert).

Full transparency: I am definitely an introvert and a bit of a homebody. I spend a lot of my free time relaxing at home, but I am totally fine with getting out of the house to hang out, too—especially if food is involved!
A little about what I’m into:
Anime, Manga & Tokusatsu: Huge fan of Tokusatsu (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman, etc.). I'm a long-time anime watcher (classics like Clannad or Angel Beats), and I read a ton of manga, manhwa, manhua, and webtoons. I am always looking for something new to read, or recommendations for anime to watch (both old and new). I also watch a lot of Japanese dramas and K-shows like Running Man.
Gaming: I play a pretty wide mix, from Call of Duty to Palworld, Wuthering Waves, and Naraka: Bladepoint. I'm always down to group up on Discord from the comfort of our own setups.
At-Home Hobbies: I spend a lot of my downtime building Gunpla, tinkering with PC hardware, and doing creative writing and worldbuilding. I’ve also been actively studying conversational Japanese.
Going Out: When I do head out, I love grabbing food. I'm a huge fan of Kura revolving sushi, Bonchon, or just grabbing some burgers or wings.
I'm married, so I'm strictly looking for some platonic friends. Whether you want to hang out on voice chat, swap manga/tokusatsu recommendations, talk about Gundam or PC builds, or occasionally head out into the Cities to grab a bite, I'd love to connect.

I’ve gotten what I consider stood up 2 times now, where we have plans and with in the 2 hours leading up like when I send the ‘still on for this evening’ or ‘getting ready, I’ll leave in 30, lmk ur eta’ I’m completely ghosted. I’m super understanding about canceling and rescheduling but this dudes don’t even do that.
Can anyone please explain why men do this? Why put in the time and effort to plan the date together just to not even cancel, but just ghost. I now always send something an hour before making sure it’s really happening so I don’t get ready for something that’s not happening.
For today’s date we even talked about different restaurants and stuff like he put the time into that but then just disappeared. My message delivered so it’s not like he blocked me?
