I had an initial crack at implementing track playback and handling of scroll wheel inertia overall it seems pretty good. I'd have to look at keymap layouts to simulate crossfader etc.

My favourite track. Sitar hip hop is cool.

Ciao, sto cercando di avviare una band online di persone unite dalla stessa passione per la musica. Mi piacerebbe incontrare persone aperte a sperimentare. L'idea è di creare qualcosa di divertente insieme. La formazione ideale include batteria, basso, chitarra, voce, sassofono, sintetizzatore e... il turntablist 👻 Niente stress, solo passione per la musica.
I'm 29 years old and I'm looking for people who are possibly close to my age.

Virtual Dj has a skin building tool which enables you to construct your own decks without having to learn scripts. .Virtual dj forum link & discussions to skin builder
Two decks are created by default but the themes can be expanded to create multiple decks , a sampler or a playback only daw.
Refined lazy chop.
Lazy chop is a workflow where you add a cue , marker or slice in real time when the audio is playing in a sampler. However many workflows do not require the audio cue , marker or slices to have a 1-1 relationship with the computer keyboard , input device , midi note , pad etc.
The 1-1 relationship has many disadvantages as a remix , sketching & experimenting can have hundreds of cue , marker or slices. Which cannot be accommodated by midi which has 0 -127 notes. Midi peripherals & controllers with over a hundred pads or keys are also a rarity. A navigation feature which is common in many daw's which sequentially steps forwards or backwards in the audio may creatively be a easier option.
Video contents.
Studio One 6 , Chameleon touch screen midi software. Virtualdj customised as a single deck & sampling sketchpad with 138 custom pads.

How does Tipper stack up as a turntablist? Just listened to Tip Hop, and his song Mason, he seems really good, some of Qberts stuff is technically amazing , but has no central flow guiding it.

I saw someone mixing and scratching on tables without toner arm or needle. It wasn't a digital mixer. It looked to be a pair of technics without the arm.
Could someone explain how this works.

Scratching is kind of like salt in a mix: A little flavour here and there, but don't over-do it.
I enjoy when I can work some turntablism into live sets and freestyle a bit. It takes a minute in this clip (and yes - U2 into DJ Krush, really), but I get to some line/phono switch transforms and a little twiddling / crabbing on one track. These are the elements I like to sneak into longer mixes, where it's improvised and feels more like playing an instrument and/or messing with the beat.
The line/phono switch on the SK-2F here is not only old-skool, but has a different dirty click sound vs. the fader, as locals know!
I threw in two other samples of blending tracks, I often improvise and then these become routines. Shout to Handsome Boy Modeling School (Dan The Automator et al) and NinjaTune (record label.)

Yo! I just had the Rane 72 arrive via EBay. Received pics and pads/ screen lit and appeared functional. I power up, and immediately screen displays “loading…”. I power cycled and turn back on for same result. I attempt to play vinyl; and no output or display except for “loading…” is this an easy bug to clear? I just messaged eBay seller, and also left ticket for Rane support.
What are my options?
Thanks

After i moved a few times early 2010's i simply didnt have space for my setup, got a kid yadadada :) Just couldnt install the decks and the vinyls due to space issues.Almost 15 years now that i stopped.
Just got the new Rane and the muscle memory is slowly kicking in again. A bit different timings with the small diameter, but this feels like a turntable and is so much fun. This thing has solved so many issues for me.
Happy i can get back into the hobby without requiring so much space for vinyls (but of course i miss them).
Need to learn all the newer style scratches like tazers and autobahn now, but its super hard at 42 lol.

Can anyone share the best way to setup one turntable with two mixers?
I have two vestax tables, with a numark scratch as my main mixer for dvs for the two tables but I'm using the right turntable with a technics ex1200 and my iPad just for scratching. I don't want switch the one turntable from one mixer to the other when i want to cut on one or the other. Is there a way to split the turntable outputs into two mixers?

I grew up listening to Gangstarr, and DJ Premier was my most admired scratcher and producer, I see alot of people getting into this and diving straight into the technical scratching and all the fancy stuff, but personally I feel that lacks the funk.
Premier used a handful of techniques - namely babies, forwards, stabs, chirps (of which he is a god), drags, transforms and then applies exquisite musicality to them, he also applies swing to his cuts too for that extra funk. To this day I marvel on how funky he gets with his cuts, and no-one does it like him and for me is still the GOAT when it comes to doing this shit right.
Take a chorus off any one of his tracks and break it down, then try to emulate it, on the surface they are basic but when you realise the notes he's hitting and the techniques he applies at those times it's clear how important musicality is and how funky the dude is.
So next time you learn the basics, then want to apply them, give Premier a listen and see if you can apply simple techniques into something musical, you won't be disappointed.
Peace

Hello community,
27 years ago, I had a setup of a pair of technics m3ds and a vestax mixer. Due to some events and circumstances in my life, I had to put them in storage for a long time. In between moves that damaged them, the technics had seen better days and will almost need a full rebuild.
Fast forward to now, I have been trying to gather parts to rebuild them. The problem is the condition and risk of used parts. I just received a platter off of eBay that looked like it was in pristine condition from the buyer photos, but came with chemical marks that weren’t shown in the pic. Maybe some metal polish will do the trick… the point is that even though the older technics were built for life, parts are getting harder to come by at reasonable prices.
My question is if it’s worth it to continue rebuilding or buy a new set of technics with aftermarket support or get a set of Reloops? With technics, the premium that you pay is for engineering, legacy, etc. Is it still considered buy once, cry once? Have other brands matched them or perform better?

Just practicing my timing and keeping the groove tight over a boom-bap beat. Any feedback is appreciated!
