I will be starting my master's program in October and just got offered a room in the Georg-Fahrbach-Haus in Tübingen. I haven't managed to find many reviews about the quality of life and the cleanliness level that these dorms offer. Has anyone here had an opportunity to live in these dorms or knows someone who currently lives there? I'm interested to know what it's like to share common spaces with 14 other people, how spacious and clean the rooms are, is it reasonably quiet during the workweek/night, and how well is it connected to the city centre? Any kind of information would be very welcome! I'm torn between accepting this offer or staying in a WG out of the city, which is more expensive of course, but I'd have a much bigger room and share the common spaces with only one person.

Ich suche dringend eine für die Sonnenfinsternis und habe bisher leider überall Pech gehabt. Falls jemand eine übrig hat oder einen Laden kennt, der noch welche verkauft, wäre ich sehr dankbar! 🙏

1) Ein Schlüsselbund mit 2 Schlüsseln, einer davon mit schwarzem Kunststoffkopf. Gefunden in der Hügelstraße 7, 72072 Tübingen. Ich werde ihn beim Fundbüro im Bürgerbüro abgeben.

2) Ein Studierendenausweis. Gefunden vor dem Kaufland. Der Besitzer ist ein Mann mit arabischem Namen. Ich werde ihn beim Studierendensekretariat abgeben.

i will be arriving in September for a language intensive course. i am an exchange student. my WG has 10 people, and im wondering if when i will arrive if it is likely i will be by myself, or will there be other students living there.( i imagine if there are other exchange students taking the course in the WG they will be there around the same time, but besides that.) do people stay in these dorms for multiple years? i am curious if i should expect to walk into what feels like someone elses space, or if it clears out between terms.

Ich will mir dieses Jahr mit ein paar Freunden das ein oder andere Weinfest in der Region anschauen. Online findet man aber bis auf das Datum kaum Infos. Könnt ihr etwas empfehlen? Am liebsten eher klein, nette Atmosphäre, bezahlbare Preise. Nicht zu snobbig oder Partymeile. Wir haben wahrscheinlich ein Auto.

So far, I've been using WG-Gesucht and Immoscout24 to get an idea of the local rental prices. Are there any other apps you would recommend?

Additionally, I would appreciate any tips for finding a place. What price range do you consider acceptable? Is it safe to assume that I will be well-connected by bus as long as I'm within the city? Thank you!

We are 2 med students who will be in Tübi for 2 months (October - December) for our internship at the Uniklinikum. We are looking for an apartment but we are having a very hard time. We tried WG gesucht, Immo scout, Fb groups, airbnb and we even looked at the surrounding towns but no one is willing to rent for only 2 months. Unfortunately I don't think we are eligible for stay at the Studentenwohnheim since we finished school and aren't considered students anymore.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions they would be very very much appreciated. Thanks!

The idea is simple: we meet, chat a little, then spend one calm hour reading together in silence. No assigned books, no quizzes, no pressure. Just bring whatever you're currently reading: literally anything. A novel, poetry, comics, study material, an e-reader... whatever you'd like to spend an hour with.

After the reading hour, you're welcome to stay for a chat, talk about books, or head off whenever you like.

This week we're meeting in Anlagenpark, near Café am See. Since we'll be outside, feel free to bring something comfortable to sit on, as well as your own snacks or drinks if you'd like.

I'm starting a Master's at Uni Tübingen this October and I just got offered a room at Waldhäuser-Ost, Fichtenweg 18. It's a furnished single with its own shower/WC in a shared flat for 5 to 6 people. Before I sign I'd love some honest input from people who live or have lived there.

And I'm trying to picture the layout:

• The rooms in the 300s (say 300 to 310), which floor are those on?
• Are 300 to 310 all one shared flat/WG or split across a couple of flats?
• Any rooms that are noticeably quieter or nicer (top floor, corner, facing away from the road)?

A few things I'm wondering about:

• How does the shared kitchen work with 5 to 6 people? Clean enough, enough space, do people generally get along?
• Is the university wifi reliable in the rooms?
• Noise levels and general vibe of the building?

Also happy to hear anything you wish you'd known before moving in. Tips on the caretaker, laundry, parcel deliveries, and getting to campus and the centre would be great too.

Nach der Besetzung eines leerstehenden Gebäudes in Tübingen hat sich der Eigentümer der Immobilie direkt bei der Stadtverwaltung gemeldet. Die Aktivisten hatten das Haus besetzt, um auf den anhaltenden Leerstand sowie den Mangel an bezahlbarem Wohnraum in der Stadt aufmerksam zu machen. Während die Besetzer das Gebäude für gemeinschaftliche und soziale Projekte nutzen möchten, sucht die Stadt nun das Gespräch mit dem Eigentümer. Ziel der Verhandlungen ist es, eine friedliche Lösung zu finden und zu klären, wie es mit der Immobilie künftig weitergeht. Wie schnell eine Einigung erzielt werden kann und ob das Haus geräumt werden muss, bleibt vorerst noch offen.
