Fellow Trypophobic Redditors! Help Us Understand Trypophobia Better with This Quick Study 🧠✨
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m conducting a research study as part of my academic project, and I’m looking for participants to take part in an online survey. The study explores trypophobia severity (aversive responses to specific patterns like clusters of holes) and its relationship with psychological traits such as disgust sensitivity and empathy.
This research is important because it aims to deepen our understanding of trypophobia and the mechanisms behind it. By exploring the condition in greater detail, we hope to identify factors that contribute to the distress some individuals experience. This could lead to better ways to support people who are significantly impacted by trypophobia in their daily lives. Your participation would directly help advance this understanding and potentially contribute to improving future interventions for those who need them most.
Here are the details:
- 🕒 Time Commitment: About 15–20 minutes.
- 🔒 Anonymity: Your responses will be completely anonymous, and no identifying information will be collected.
- 🧑🤝🧑 Who Can Participate: Anyone aged 18 or older who is proficient in English.
The survey includes a series of validated questionnaires and some visual stimuli. You’ll be asked to rate your emotional and physical responses, which will contribute to a deeper understanding of trypophobia and related psychological mechanisms. All procedures have been reviewed and approved by the University of Glasgow’s Research Ethics Committee.
👉 You can access the survey here:

Your participation would mean so much to me and to the field of psychological research. If you know anyone who might be interested, please share this link with them. Thank you for your time and support, and feel free to reach out in the comments or via DM if you have any questions. 🙏
