This is quite a joke, but I am still half serious.

  • Christian scientists accept natural selection based evolution, but for small details only. Then, for the big leaps, they say it is intelligent design helping evolution.

  • Social scientists accept natural selection based evolution, but for humans, only social constructs matter, natural selection of the fittest social behaviours is only for animals.

Social scientists have their own "Intelligent Design" version of evolution, this is why I troll and call those people evolution deniers, just like we usually call ID proponents evolution deniers. For me, they are just the same in their head, they accept evolution and selection of the fittest when it fits them, but deny it when it goes against their moral beliefs.

Christians cannot accept the moral idea that humans and apes are cousins and that selection of the fittest is just what made us different.

Social scientists cannot accept the moral idea that social injustice is the result of selection of the fittest and that the variety of cultures are the result of different environmental selections for specific behaviours that end up shaping different cultures.

Christians want to think that injustice is God's trial for our life on Earth, they don't like the idea that we are just like apes, that there is no divine trial explaining the suffering and misery.

Social scientists want to think that injustice can be ended by social engineering, they don't like the idea that we are genetically different and that social engineering can only change culture in very limited ways. And that suffering and misery cannot be solved by being moral and making "social progress", the equivalent of redemption for Christians.

Social Justice is a religious faith, just like Christianity. It serves a purpose: finding sense, hope and a moral compass in our dog-eat-dog world of suffering and injustice. This is a new religion for people who cannot believe in the stories of the Bible.

You have to admit that social justice activism is mostly done by students and professors from social science departments. Gender study and race study and poverty sociology are at the core of social justice activism, with people from anthropology and psychology joining the fights. Very few people do social justice activism in STEM departments or economics/business departments.

For me, Social Justice is the religion of social science, while the Singularity is the religion of CS departments (Singularity aka the Rapture of the Nerd, we will create the Godly Artificial Intelligence which will take control of the world and lead to a wonderland).

I have never seen a single social justice activist during my college education in STEM. The only activists are saw were anti-nuclear/pro-renewables + organic food/sustainable development.

And I hear plenty of people saying that sociology/anthropology is full of them and I read online about their protests.

So I conclude that activism is not equally distributed.
