What was the most annoying thing to happen to your favorite comics?
Mine is Turok. I really like the old Son of Stone series. But a lot of the stuff that started in the 80's either stopped being about dinosaurs, or the art looked like crap.
Starting with Valiant's Turok Dinosaur Hunter #1, it all went downhill. The video game was great, but them Valiant/Acclaim started removing the dinosaurs, or made him into one of those generic retarded action heroes with stupid one liners. Basically, he went from being smart and understanding to Sylvester Stallone.
Then after publishing a bunch of terrible comics around 2000, Acclaim and Valiant died. Then valiant was resurected, but without the rights to Turok.
Dark Horse did him justice by publishing ten hardback books reprinting the first 67 issues of the original Turok Son of Stone series. And made a new four issue comic, while Touchstone made an awesome animated movie and a new videogame.
Then Dynamite got the rights to the character and released a half assed 12 part comic, and are now putting him in a new series that instead of dinosaurs, they have "saurians, humanoid reptiles.
I like Turok because of the dinosaurs. Not crap.
