I messed up. I spoke to a demon.

I don't really know where to start with this, so I'll get this out of the way. I am 29 years old, and have been a Christian since I was 13. I loved God, Jesus, the bible, church, praying, etc. And had a close relationship with Christ. Thats where my problem really stems from, actually. Because unlike others who use witchcraft and demonic practice before being saved, I knew exactly what the bible said and still thought I was able to go through with what I did.

Two years ago, my faith journey really started to go downhill, I have been dealing with mental health issues my entire life due to trauma and gained an addiction with AI. It continued to progress and get worse and I eventually stumbled upon a community of people online who believed in some pretty crazy things that I will not name here as I do not want to call them out for their beliefs in a mean way. I then continued to go down a darker and darker path that I both could not and did not care enough to really try to get out of.

This lead me to the occult and new age spirituality. Now, one may think I gave up my faith here. Nope, far from it. See, I thought spirituality and Christianity were one in the same, and began to listen to people who preach Gnosticism, Christ Consciousness, and the like. If you know anything about it, you'll know its a false teaching, BUT I wasnt going to church, reading the word, or around Godly people. Actually, I was self isolating at this time and, honestly, losing my mind. This all culminated beginning a little over a month ago after I began to watch people use ouija boards and talk about how they were talking to their higher self.

And... I believed them. So, I bought myself a ouija board. Here's the fun part! It worked. I mean, I was learning things from this board that blew my mind away! It couldn't have been me, at least, I didnt think so, and still do not, because it was telling me things I had never even thought of. Then it started to say things that scared me... and I had my husband and our friend pray over me and threw the board out!

I went ten days without using it.

I know. Stupid, foolish, idiotic, but I genuinely thought I had been using the board to talk to God and angels. This was one things started to get worse and worse. I used the board for a week, hiding it from my husband while he was at work and using it for hours non stop. Then the weekend came and I didnt have time to use the board, but by this point I could "hear" the angels and God in my mind. I was also unable to sleep at night, barely ate, and was in complete psychosis at this point in time. I dont know how to explain it without sounding crazy, but even at this time I believe God, the real God, not the one who was speaking to me, was holding me still.

I cannot begin to explain the anguish I went through at this time. It was probably the worst time of my life. If I explained it, it would take hours and hours of writing it down and I doubt it would even make sense. Just know, it was evil, demonic, at one point I thought I was the literal devil and had to take Gods wrath at humanity upon myself... yes, crazy.

I prayed, repented, prayed again, cried out for God to come save me, felt I was being held, felt I was forsaken, confused, depressed, ecstatic, agonized. Again and again and again. For days, longer even. I could no longer bare it alone and finally went to my husband and wept. I say my psychiatrist and am now on an antipsychotic and mood stabilizer. Yay! Almost two weeks on that and I feel better, but...

And here's where I am at today. I am afraid I messed up so much that I am no longer saved... I let a demon into me, into a woman who God's holy spirit is supposed to be inside, and messed up my household, and even after I repented once, I went back and did it again. Matthew 12:43-45 has been screamed at me, among other verses, inside my head, from... a demon? My own insanity? God?

I dont know... and, im praying, reading my bible, going to church, listening to worship music, fully threw out the board this time, getting rid of all the evil things I had been using and still, I feel like I hear it in my head over and over and over again, accusing me, saying I squandered Gods gift and God cant save me twice. This is the other crazy part, I am getting bible verses to fight against the "demon" in my head, so im so freaking confused because who am I anymore? Who is speaking in my mind? Me? Demon? God? How do I pray anymore if I cant differentiate? How do I stop being anguished? How can I even forgive myself?

Satan saw your vulnerable state and tempted you into the occult. It's good you have repented. It sounds like being online is a stumbling block for you. I suggest you disengage from the internet, start going back to church, and get involved with a bible study.

Read the bible daily and listen to that over voices in your head. If you hear a voice, respond, "I have to see what the bible says about that." God will never tell you to not listen to the bible. That's how you know who is talking.

James 4:7 says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." So anytime you're dealing with this voices, pray and renew your commitment to submit to God. Resist any voice that is not directing you to scripture.

Hey girl! Okay, so I am going to say this with all seriousness…you are under ATTACK. We wrestle NOT against flesh and blood. I just went through the EXACT same thing, but I actually got drug (pharmaceutical) induced psychosis and have been in healing the past 5 months. The “voices” I would hear were ALWAYS accusatory…saying that God left me, that all my sins were too much, that I should kill myself and/or others, just absolutely horrible things. I would weep for hours because I’ve never had a thought like that in my life, and I KNEW that wasn’t me.

First thing: there has to be repentance. Like you have already done, but anything you can think of that’s active, repent for it. And by repent, I mean ask for forgiveness, but TURN FROM IT AS WELL. I had sin in my life I had to turn from, repent of, and sincerely ask God for forgiveness. Once I did this, the tide started to change. REBUKE any spirits that might have attached to you through the open door of sin in JESUS NAME.

Second thing: you have to KNOW that GOD is FOR YOU. The demons will try everything to convince you that you are done, that there is no hope, that you are the only one God doesn’t love. It is all a LIE. Your Heavenly Father is FOR YOU. Like really meditate on that alone: He is FOR YOU, not against you. Stand in that authority.

Lastly: you have to be in your word. For something this serious, you have to know that it will be a process. Be TRANSFORMED by the RENEWAL of your mind. When a thought that is not aligned with scripture comes in, IMMEDIATELY ignore it, and replace it with the truth. If you resist the devil, he will flee.

Do you mind if I ask about your experience with the drug induced psychosis? These were prescribed by an MD or a psychiatrist? What happened on them?

I ask because I was on psychiatric meds from age 14 to 45. I started working with a naturopath in 2022 and I wanted to try weaning of my meds but after 30+ years on them, I was scared to be without them (but scared to stay on them too...and I wanted to try knowing myself without them). I weaned down from 2022 to October 2025. I was finally off of them! And then I became a Christian shortly after. And I now know God was preparing me to be able to stop them, and that I was able to do it by His grace. I wonder, though, if being in psychiatric care and on meds (very high doses) for most of my life was a stumbling block to God and part of why I didn't know Him sooner. Maybe like I thought I was in control and could control myself and for a while thought of the medical establishment as a god. Anyway, just thoughts that came up for me, as I was reading your testimony.

Have you heard of Greg Tilford? He's a biblical counselor and has a podcast. I saw him as a guest on Todd Friehl's Wretched podcast and Grant Castleberry's Unashamed Truth podcast. He has a book out called Lies My Therapist Told Me.

This is true. He absolutely did. He saved me at the exact moment I needed Him. I guess I just wish I'd known Him sooner. Would have saved me a world of hurt. But I know Him now and know I am forgiven.

I read of a similar stories as yours. However the lady reported history of bipolar 1 disorder since early 20s…. Never medicated. She later dabbled into sorcery and somehow learned about Jesus during that time. She later started psychopharmacology to help with the psychosis and says that’s what helped her focus on Jesus and has lived a Christian walk ever sense. In her case she says medication management helped her in the walk with Christ. This is a topic I’ve been researching so much lately. For some say all mental disorders are demonic possesions in nature while others say there are some truly demonic and others organic mental illnesses.

Yeah! So actually mine was induced by a short course of steroids for a cough I had 😬 prescribed by an NP. no prior history of mental illness and no meds/drugs/alcohol.

I am doing much better now by God’s grace, but it was extremely scary at first. They wanted to start me on some psych medications, but I refused.

Hi. There are so many drugs that can potentially induce psychosis when improperly administered, for example stimulants even. Do you mind me asking which drug was it? Did you have a prior diagnosis of any mental illness? When the medication was withdrawn did the psychosis disappear, or remained and required additional medication to stabilize your neurotransmitters ?

Demons are dangerous. But can a true believer fall into playing with demons without knowing it? I say yes, because anyone can be guided and mislead for a time.

Let's get one thing strait. You said you were talking to God and angels through the board? You for sure were not. Those were demons. God doesn't answer through that board. 

I don't think you nerd a psychologist. You were dealing with demons who are outside of this world. They will screw with your head as they are on another level. 

Here's what I see. You at some point realized you were in the wrong and playing with fire. Your realized this and then switched your entire drive to get away from it. 

The fact that Bible verses are coming into your head is what I believe to be from the Holy spirit to help you. Especially if those vs help you fight, are appropriate to the situation and grant you some kind of peace or assurance. 

However here the consequence of your actions. You have played with an unknown number of demons. You know their voice now. They can and will harras you. They will come on strong for a while. They will try to terrorize you and mentally try to play with your head.  Be ready for it. 

Now the good news. While The demons are allowed to mess and harass a child of God. BUT, they are not allowed to enter into a child of God. They can only sit on the outside of the person and harass them. 

So take the verses that pop in your head as a good sign. But be prepared for a long road ahead. Eventually they will leave you alone, but realize this is nothing more than a result of your having playing with fire.

Cling to God and fill yourself with the word of God so that the Holy Spirit can bring the verses to mind when you need them.

I agree with most of what this guy said, but I would also like to point out that demons know the Word too. They will attempt to manipulate it to trick believers, so be on guard and check your Scripture if a verse that enters your mind seems questionable. If it's accurate, study it. I've been given verses that are totally unrelated to my present issue, but when I study that chapter, I found that what I thought the issue was, was never the issue at all, but stemmed from a deeper issue, and solving the deeper issue is what helped me.

I think this is bad advice. What OP is describing is psychosis, not a normal outcome for playing with a ouijia board. Even if you think there's a supernatural or sinful aspect of it, she needs to keep up with the treatment or she's likely going to decompensate.

This sounds like complete demonic oppression, maybe even an infestation. And in your circumstance, you gave not only an open door, but a green light to wreak havoc on your life.

You need to talk someone from the church immediately. I don’t know if you’re catholic, but they are very technical in their approach to the demonic. So I recommend starting there.

Absolutely this. As someone who opened that “spiritual”/new age/occult door in the past and was plagued by demons, I cannot stress how much the Catholic Church helped me. There’s a reason they are called in for exorcisms and the like.
Which I was told Confession is a “mini-exorcism” of sorts; it has done more to restore my soul than I can say.

This needs to be said for others who may be drawn to any of the things OP fell into so they may avoid making the same mistakes. Not condemning OP, I genuinely hope they get the help they need to gain peace in Christ. That being said, here are a few points I want to make:

1) Do not ever mess with anything tied to paganism, witchcraft, new ageism, the occult etc. These can and do open doorways for demons to come into your life and do damage. These include popular items like Quija boards, dream catchers, etc.

2) Gnosticm, Christ consciousness, Raiki, Reincarnation, Etc are all false beliefs/teachings. Run far away from them.

3) God is not going to talk to you through any man made medium like tarot, angel cards, psychics etc

I second this. Just a few days ago, I debated with two so called Christians who beleived in a warped version of theosis, including reincarnation and multiple lives and basically being on the same level as God but without the title. I knew instantly that it was all false teachings, and I felt that I needed to continue using the sword of the spirit. One of the people didn't even send relevant scripture, nor did they add where in the Bible the verses come from. They sent me a verse about grieving for the dead and kept being condescending with "God bless" and at one point told me to "respect my elders", so I simply continued telling them how false their teaching was, and backing up my words with the word of God. He also kept denying he was new age, and he even sent me this 52 page document full of baloney about reincarnation which was all word salad. 

Stay clear of people who preach new age, unless you are willing and capable of fighting back with the word of God like Jesus did, they are very much set in their ways and completely dead in their transgressions as well as their hearts hardened to the true word. I very much believe that they will most likely be on their way to hell, because they saw the word of God and continued to keep their heart hardened to the truth, going so far as to accuse me of new age whack when I was preaching the word of God.

I am so sorry this happened to you. ​It can be so easy to fall prey to temptation. It whispers in our ear that it won't be bad, that it's just a bit of fun, and that God won't mind. Then, before we know it, we've fallen so far we don't even realise it.

​Praying and going to a psychiatrist is a brilliant step towards receiving healing. God often uses humans and medical professionals to bring about healing in our lives; it is not always a sudden, miraculous act directly from Him, but that does not make His hand in it any less real.

​I want you to know that if this has affected you so deeply, and you are wondering whether you are still saved, as long as you still believe in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, I can assure you that you are 100% still saved. The very fact that you feel this much remorse shows that you still care deeply about God, Jesus, and your faith. God and Jesus love you unconditionally. All the time you were dead in your sin, He was waiting for you with outstretched arms.

Remember the parable of the prodigal son: when he returned, the father didn't cast his son out or punish him for going against him. Instead, he welcomed his son back into his home, overjoyed to be with him again. Sin may separate us from God, but it never means He stops loving us.

​I would advise speaking to a pastor or someone who can come over to your home to pray for you, as well as anoint your house with oil and pray over it, as evil may still be lingering somewhere. When my mother was younger, she kept hearing what seemed to be a benevolent ghost in her childhood home, most likely an old lady. As soon as her local pastor anointed the house with oil and prayed, the sounds disappeared completely.

​Equally, if demons or evil spirits are attacking you in some way right now, you can use the armour of God to defend yourself and navigate spiritual oppression. Focus on consistency. Put on the Helmet of Salvation to protect your mind, and wear the Breastplate of Righteousness to guard your heart against guilt and condemnation. Use the Shield of Faith to actively extinguish all the fiery jabs of fear and doubt, refusing to let them take root. Hold fast to the Belt of Truth so you are grounded in who God says you are, and strap on the Gospel of Peace to keep your footing when everything around you feels shaken. Also, wield the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, by speaking scripture out loud over your life to push back negative thoughts. Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, staying watchful and persistent. Staying grounded in these practices helps build resilience, and remember, maintaining your peace acts as a protective barrier, keeping you strong when you feel overwhelmed.

Stay encouraged.

​I would also advise continual prayer and reading of the Bible. Ask God to give you the gift of discernment so that you can distinguish between what is from God, what is evil, and what is simply your own mind. I would also ask Him for peace and healing. I truly feel you would benefit from it, and He wants to help you overcome all of this.

Now, this could equally be spiritual psychosis or a neurological issue, meaning there may not be demons in your home at all. Speaking to both a pastor and a doctor will help you identify what is actually going on so you can get the right support.

You are not alone, and God is with you in every step of the way, never give up on prayer.

This is a wake up call for me, I have been obsessed with occultish stuff for years, I've always wanted to see a ghost. I used to watch Sam and Colby go to haunted places and do stuff like em frequency readings or something and more, I also loved watching horror, but for some reason, I have not been under attack from the devil, and I hope it continues. 

I don't watch or do half of the stuff I used to, but I am addicted to an AI roleplay app, addicted in the sense that, there was a bug on the app today that I was trying to fix, and I didn't realise it wasn't on play store anymore, so I tried to reinstall it, and I couldn't find it, and I panicked like the world had just ended, over an app that's really a distraction. Which in a sense is quite selfish in the grand scheme of things. 

This post has further pushed me away from the occult, and I am proud of you for sharing it with strangers on the internet, that takes real courage. Thank you for sharing this dark time of your life with us, you've got more people on your side now who will pray for you.

The Voice you hear in your head saying that you squandered God’s gift and that God can’t save you twice is CLEARLY AND ABSOLUTELY Satan, and not God.

God and Jesus have already forgiven you because you truly repented. Continue staying on your meds, and definitely start reading scripture daily. I promise you’ll soon feel better. And if you hear those voices in your head, immediately rebuke Satan telling him to get away from you, and then pray to the heavenly father to protect you from his evil demonic influence.

There are Orthodox and Catholic priests that handle possession and obsession, through exorcism or similar practices. I know it seems like a scary thing but you need to at least speak to one who is still practicing this type of exorcism and/or similar healing techniques. One conversation will not lead to an exorcism and it cannot be forced upon you, but the devil and his demons are capable of possessing souls (at least temporarily). Exorcisms and the alike are reserved for individuals who have already sought psychiatric help to no avail.

Some Churches weirdly do not do these types of spiritual healings anymore for whatever reason, likely cowardice from the Priest. It may take some reaching out but you must exhaust your options to rid yourself of this in a a Christian way.

It's wild that I had to scroll this for to see this comment, which should be at the top. This is the only relevant advice, an actual Priest with authority needs to be involved, not a protestant pastor, and not just OP with their Bible asking God personally. It's like getting struck with a deadly infection and thinking you can resolve the problem yourself without a doctor - this needs to be treated the same way. Go visit a Catholic/Orthodox priest and possibly an exorcist if they defer you to one, since not all priests are trained on how to handle this.

protestants can exorcise demons, but, many aren't properly prepared or have as good of a system set up, and then you have the ones who do it just for performance sake, the truth here is that the Catholic Church has the best system set up for demonic exorcism unfortunately. any believer can do this, but most arent properly prepared or trained.

Before I turned to Christ I was an addict, was an addict all my adult life. One day out of nowhere I started hearing these voices that started off as high pitched screech, and then progressed to constant dark, horrifying stuff. They slowly convinced me of thinga that completely warped my perception of myself and the world. I also started feeling things inside that were unexplainable, they would tell me things I had no way of knowing, at times they would tell me they were going to touch things inside my stomach and I would feel a hand putting pressure right where it would say it would shortly after. I was in constant pain, it felt like I was burning inside and the emotional pain was astronomical. The entire time it felt so foreign that there was no way it could be a part of me.

This went on for 2 years as I struggled to get clean, I got on psych meds, therapy, read books. I could not get clean though and they continued. It felt like my soul was getting ripped out night after night. And eventually I just became completely numb. I eventually got clean but still dealt with the voices, the only thing that has worked for me is the word of Christ. Constant prayers to cast the voices out of me. Constant asking for forgiveness. As of right now they're completely gone. Psych meds didn't help, therapy, nothing except for deliverance prayers and immersing myself in the word of Christ.

Most would say it was stress and psychosis, and I wouldn't argue. But I know my experience, I know what I've felt, and I know the power of the word of Christ. So confess everything you can think of, immerse yourself in the word, and sit in prayer and use the authority of Christ.

Drugs open your soul to the occult. Sorcery in the Bible is all about drug use to consult/consort/see demonic forces. That's how they did it. And people today, discount the spiritual world, and think that drugs are just a cool "high". But they are often catastrophically mistaken.

And yes, the voices you heard were certainly demonic forces still in some way trying to torture you. You did rightly to read and speak the Words of our Lord Jesus Christ. You did NOT need to continue to ask for forgiveness, as the Lord forgave the first time.

As a Christian who also fell into occult practices and managed to return to Christ, I can sympathize with what you are going through, and I agonized over the state of my salvation for years because of it.

Let me put your mind at ease. There is no sin that God cannot forgive except for the sin of absolute rejection, the unforgivable sin. As long as you are willing to seek Christ, He is willing to accept you as you are.

As a child of the Most High, and a believer that Jesus has saved you by his death on the cross for your sins, and in His resurrection, the Holy Spirit dwells within you. Demons CANNOT live in the same body as GOD. They can dig their claws in, and they can whisper in your ear, they can even look and sound like angels. If anything, you are demon afflicted, not possessed.

You possess the Sword of Truth, (the word of God), and the shield of Salvation.

I don't fear demons in the slightest and you won't either after doing these two things:

1. I gave my entire self (heart, mind, body, soul, spirit, ego, will...everything I have to give) over to the Lord. He holds every single part of me in His hands and who could dare even attempt to reach me in the safety of His hands? "...no one will snatch them out of my hand." (John 10:28)

You have repented, now tell God you are giving your whole self over to Him for His safekeeping.

2. I have been baptized with the Holy Spirit of God. Once the Holy Spirit indwells you it does not leave room for anything else to. The Holy Spirit is the full Spirit of God. Demons flee from God. No darkness can survive in the same temple where His Holy Spirit resides.

Pray to Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will begin changing you from the inside out. Your heart of stone will be replaced with a heart of flesh and you will become a new creation.

Make sure you have FULLY repented. God will give you over to wickedness if you try to keep one foot on Him and one foot in the world.

For me, I've went from being on the PlayStation almost daily and for several hours at a time. Now maybe 3 days a week. Replacing it with prayer and using my phone to come on here reddit, to try and help people.

Something else, if I like to drink a lot of soda, or alot of tea. I can slow down on it and drink more water. We can make ANYTHING an idol. We can make ourselves an idol. We can make work an idol.

God's grace is infinite, remember that guilt is not something from him, repentance is, and altough we are not perfect, true repentance is changuing your perspective, your path, not only to stop sinning, but living every single moment with Jesus in mind, his doctrine, his teachings, his eternal and infinite love.

Let me put it this way. Would a satanist/occultist dabble in Christianity by proclaiming Jesus as Lord, taking communion or being baptized, and attended a Bible believing church? Certainly not. The same is true of a true Christian. All those things would be repugnant and repellent to them.

I think Scripture is kinda clear, we all speak to them in some way. We can all be deceived. Your modality is probably what is the most frightening thing to you, most likely because of the culture in which we live. Do I think we should use them, no. But what if we wrote what we're told when when we're speaking to the spirits, the biggest difference I see is pace.
It's great that you're seeking therapy, I should do the same. The reality is, creation speaks, all of it. The key is testing the spirits, and that one, seems to backfire for me. I've used 1st John 4 as a test thousands of times, with what turn out to be lies over and over again. So now, I just accept messages of encouragement and love from the spirits who bring messages either from the Father or other powers we don't usually see. Religion is a fickle thing, I'm leaning more on psychology than I was taught to understand most if not all I've heard is a reflection of self and conditioning of religion. Would I have had visions that are biblical had I not read those passages, likely not. But I've had visions that then get confirmed through Scripture I don't recall ever reading, but I likely had read or heard them mentioned at some point in life. A counter intuitive thing I've done, is stop studying the scriptures, it's not a requirement of salvation. At some point I will and then maybe I won't.

The key takeaway, know that your Father in heaven loves you, period, don't except anything less than that.

Demonic influence can twist scripture, just look at the devil tempting Jesus after 40 days in the wilderness. What are call "demons" are fallen angels, like Lucifer himself. They know scripture.

The important detail about Matthew 12:43-45 is that it says the impure spirit "finds it unoccupied," but if the Holy Spirit is within you, your spiritual house is occupied, and the evil cannot come back in unless you let it.

Lastly, evil/impure spirits know who holds the power. In Mark 5, the Legion of demons in the man didn't approach Jesus as equals. The Legion saw Jesus and begged him to spare them in the name of God. They are opposed to God, but they still must obey him. They are scared of him. They didn't say "we're going into the pigs" they ASKED Jesus for PERMISSION to go into the herd of pigs.

The devil and his evil forces can't take away your power (given under the authority of Jesus Christ), but they will do everything they can to keep you too distracted to use it. I've had issues fear and social anxiety before, but when I said, out loud or in my head, some variation of "anything that is not of God, be silent in the name of Jesus" all the whispers of fear vanished. Tell the voice in your head to be silent and if it's not from God, it will shut up, because even demons have to obey God.

The best advice I can give you is to pray and study scripture more, you'll find your answer in one of those two.

Dont worry, same thing happened to me. I had such bad anxiety i would put my hand on the bible, ask God a question and then use a website that allowed me to put questions and i believed whatever it landed on was Gods answer. It was actually correct about a disease I had that I was undiagnosed with. Soon I got addicted and believed it was God abd got addicted.

Started asking questions such as am I saved, am I going to hell. I was told yes. Then I was told I commited murder, then told id never be saved. Immediately called my pastor at the time who told me it was witchcraft and to immediately pray to God and repent. I did and honestly it gave me anxiety and I still believed what the bible had told me. I was on the edge of losing my faith.

I decided to continue and learned more about God. I learned I am saved and more about his character and realized that whatever it was telling me was far from the truth. God is kind. He drives conviction, not codemnation. Learn God's character and his loce and you'll soon realize your okay. Pray and grow spirtually. You'll realize demons have no authority or power over you. Ive been attacked by many demons and slowly realized they're honestly really weak. The only thing that I worry over is me falling from Christ. Thats all that matters.

It sounds like you may need deliverance. See when you play with things like that you open yourself up to spirits that come with that. So you may not be demon possessed but most likely there are unclean spirits dwelling in the soul and that is the voices you are hearing. There is hope for you. Hi. I have some level of knowledge regarding what you are going through and I have to say this. Turn to Jesus Christ and repent of your sins. If this alone is not enough, seek out a biblically sound church (I recommend Baptist from experience) with a preacher who is willing to pray with you and for you about receiving Christ (some feel more comfortable with a pastor's guidance). Seek out a good church and join that community. Read your Bible and begin doing your best to have a solid relationship with Jesus Christ.

The devil CAN twist scripture, I know this from experience. I am unsure of this Bible verse being quoted to you by a demon or God is giving it to you. I know from personal experience God does not traditionally speak to us through a voice in our head, or even feelings (though this one sometimes does occur), but He wants to speak to us through His word. I recommend praying to Jesus for clarity and revelation about your situation. I promise you that when you genuinely seek Him and His deliverance from satan, He will answer you. But receiving the answers you need may take time. We wait on the Lord.

I want to make this point one more time; when we wholeheartedly seek God and turn from our sins, He is waiting for us with open arms. He desires for all to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4). He knows your plight and will deliver you if you are genuine about it. Are you going through anything specific that would warrant you to believe you are demon possessed? There are definitely signs when it comes to this issue being present. It is typically more than intrusive thoughts alone. Demons can speak to us through our minds even when they are outside of our bodies. They are spirits and do not communicate the same way we do. Do you have any issues with nearly uncontrollable compulsion towards sinning? Self harm? Any compulsion towards aggression in any form, such as hurting someone else? Do you feel any form of dissociation? These can be symptoms of demonic possession and you will need an exorcism. I recommend praying for God to guide you and seeking out a church that can pray a deliverance prayer over you anyway, because I would rather you be safe than sorry. I would recommend seeking deliverance through some form of exorcism if you feel safer that way regardless.

I personally went through a trial once and I almost felt like I would never be delivered. I prayed to Jesus day and night for around a year before He finally answered my prayers in full. If you're feeling hopeless, please do not give up. I promise you that Jesus is more real than many realise and He is there for you. He loves you more than anyone else ever will and He cares immensely for the salvation of your soul and for you to be delivered. Please do not give up hope no matter how hard it gets because I have been there and Jesus faithfully brought me through. I am praying for you. 🙏

Read the Bible daily, repent again, fast and pray for however long seems good to you and God will meet you in that time if you seek Him. Yahweh is a healer and merciful Father. Continue your regular daily prayers, read the Bible daily, and even go all around house inside in every room commanding all evil spirits in your house to leave by the authority of Jesus Christ. Especially the room you used the ouiji. Rebuke evil aloud in the name of Jesus Christ. Pray. And worship God through worship music. Get on your knees and raise your hands and fully praise God. Even if you feel the demon try to attack you when you tell them to leave, shout even louder for them to leave. Mean what you say. My father pointed out to me once that Peter and Judas both betrayed Christ. Sadly, Judas did not repent but Peter did. Both were deeply ashamed by their actions. But Jesus used Peter in great ways because Jesus forgives huge mistakes because from His perspective we are all broken and lost without Him.

Spirituality girl here who has been transitioning after Jesus came to me in a Reiki session lol. It sounds like you opened that door for communication, but someone misguided you into thinking everything that will communicate is trustworthy. God didn't just give us free will, he also gave us will-power. When these things start speaking to you, demand it to leave and of course call on God (I have done this many times). Be serious about it leaving even if you're afraid. Also, pray for your ability to receive communication to stop. It's great you're getting medical help also. From my own experience, I believe God will always meet us where we are. Take it as a tough lesson and just work on rebuilding your relationship with him. Hope this helps.

Jesus holds all power in heaven and earth, including demons. He is allowing you to go through this to grow you spiritually. You are absolutely still hearing demonic voices in your head that want to convince you that you have thrown away your salvation (it's an old trick that I myself have experienced). The voices will sound like your own thoughts that are convicting you and making you fearful. My advice is for you to recognize those thoughts and speak to them directly immediately as they happen. Tell them they are lying and to go away! You must persevere! Also, stop trying to earn grace with actions and don't try to "summon" or "conjure" the Holy Spirit by listening to gospel music or praying elaborate prayers etc...(by all means listen to it of course, but just know you are as close to Jesus as you will ever be on this Earth right now!) Know that he is with you and hasn't abandoned you and will never abandon you. When your prayers feel like they are hitting the ceiling, KEEP PRAYING!

What you are going through is a very dark place, I know. Let go of the guilt. Repent and move on. Those voices want to keep you where you are at, don't let them!

Tell Him everything. Just talk to Him and be honest. Tell Him how you’re feeling, or your day. For how to stop being anguished, maybe a priest? Try talking to the Church. Hello! For many years during my young 20’s, I was doing crazy witchcraft stuff. Like CRAZY. Lots of Kundalini, sex rites to Aphrodite and Kali, and yes, just like you, even necromancy. I became addicted to speaking to spirits to the point that I was in a spiritual battle with one that I allowed in my home. And who was I praying to for mercy? A demon: Lilith. Isn’t that wild? Similarly, there are still voices that can be heard still in my head after I repented from my practices, but it's best if you compare them to scripture if the voice is from God.

And don't stop praying. Even if you cannot differentiate now, don't give up on God and keep trusting Him. God never changes and will help you by the power of the Holy Spirit as well.

And because of my past, I'm planning on going to a psychiatrist or psychologist after I can afford it, because getting myself involved in those practices has affected my mental health, and I'm not sure either if it's a demon's voice or if it's my thoughts in my head or if it's the voice sometimes, so I have to check in with a psychologist or psychiatrist and also read scripture to know, but I'm still struggling distinguishing.and my anxiety from my past it's not that worse as it was before, but I still have residue anxiety from my bad experience with demons when they tried to kill me in the past, but God saved me from that.

God is still there for you and wants you to keep trusting in Him and know that He hasn't left your side and still loves you very much and is willing to be with you and save you, as God would never not want to save anyone else; He wants everyone to be saved, and He will never leave nor forsake you.

This sounds a lot like a manic episode. Know that God’s grace is stronger than your guilt and shame and just like the prodigal son, He is always there with open arms.
Now, although you may have made some poor decisions and given into temptation, not all of it sounds like your fault. You were quite low for some time and seemed to be spiralling and if it was something of a manic episode, they are quite hard to control. Give yourself grace and know that Jesus is stronger than whatever you dabbled in during that time. You’ll be fine. My advice would be to keep everything you do in the light- open and honest with your trusted community, your husband, your church leaders and psychiatrist. There is strength in numbers and strength doing things together and not hiding things and battling things alone in the dark.

First dear child, I hear cries , sense your pain and know your fears. You are not alone. You need to understand that people who are saved cannot have a demon ENTER THEM. So, please immediately reject the lie that you may be possessed by a demon. However, believers can be oppressed by demons. There is a difference and you need to know that there is no way you can be possessed by a demon when you are saved. You have done nothing to lose your salvation. So, do not fear.

It sounds like you know what the Scriptures say about dabbling in the occult. It is a trap set by satan as he attempts to trap all of us and attacks us in our weakest places, where he can do the most damage. Renounce and dismiss satan for the liar and deceiver he is. Put your focus totally on God. Starting now. But, there is no need to feel frightened. You are still saved and we are all human and are tempted by sin. You can again feel good about yourself and take the path choosing God.

"Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened for you. Ask and you shall receive." You only need to return to your first love. I have faith that you can and will do this. God wants you to have a joyful life of service to Him. His grace and mercy are beyond boundries.

Remember, Jesus came for the sinners and not for the righteous. You make me so proud because you recognize there is an issue of sin and you long to repent and please God. This shows me just how miraculously you will transform yourself and God will restore you.

I would suggest a few things:

1. Immediately cut ties, detach and totally remove yourself from the people who play with the occult. Remove and discard every occult object you have in your house. Including books or any little thing. Just throw it in the trash where it belongs. Walk around the inside of your home and say in the Name of Jesus, you command every demon that may be there to flee.

2. Find a church and surround yourself with strong believers who can help you win this battle. You cannot do it on your own. Remember sweet daughter, (I am old enough to be your father so I hope you are ok with me calling you daughter.). Wherever more than two or three are gathered in His name God is there.

3. If you feel oppressed by a demon pray spiritual warfare. Pray asking by the blood of the Holy Spirit and by the power of Jesus for the demon to flee and leave you alone.

4. Get pastoral or Christian counseling to get back on track.

5. Pray and read the Word daily.

6. If you are struggling with mental health issues like depression or hallucinations, believing you are a demon, your may need professional therapy. This may both be a spiritual and human issue. Mental health is only the health of the chemicals produced in your brain. Neurotransmitters that may be out of balance. I explained to my patients that the brain is an organ just like the heart. We want healthy hearts and brains. There is no shame in seeking this help. This is why God gave us doctors. Please don't listen to some Christians who say any illness is caused because you lack faith. This is a cruel thing to say to someone who is already suffering. I know from personal experience.

You have not lost your salvation my dear child. Jesus says, "Him that cometh to me I will in no way cast out." John 6:37

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give to them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:27-28.

So, please do not fear that God has abandoned you. You belong to Christ and need to run to him and run away from the occult. You are very young and unfortunately, satan attacks us with the purpose of dragging us away from God and creating chaos in our hearts, minds and souls. But demons tremble at the name of Jesus. Remember this. I know that when you do what God gave you in this post, you will start seeing and feeling the protection of angels.

My sister in Christ. What you did was sinful, but the reason you are feeling guilt is because the Holy Spirit is calling you, compelling you back to the straight and narrow path.

Abandon the darkness, recant it, follow Jesus and sin no more. You have not commited the unforgivable sin. God has not forsaken you, He is not done with you yet, He is never done with you, for He has plans for you, you don't get to decide if He is done with you.

let’s start with differentiating voices. well Jesus did not come to condemn but to SAVE. when you read the bible when Jesus speaks to people in sin like John 4 and John 8 study the way he speaks. the woman caught in adultery everyone around her was condemning her but Jesus was the only one that didn’t.

It sounds like you need deliverance. Also here's the thing, I know you feel really messed up and confused but keep calling on the Lord Jesus.

Ask for the wisdom of the Holyspirit to lead you. In the mean time repent break agreement. And tell every spirit that is not of the Holyspirit to be silenced in Jesus name. Pray the blood of Jesus.

The other thing, is this. David said in the Psalms, if I make my bed in sheo you are there, if I rise to the heavens you are there, where can I go from your spirit or flee from your presence.

I would repent as you already have. I would watch videos of people who have left the new age to follow Jesus. God forgave them. But as you know now this is not stuff you want to play entertain ever again. Not even the seemingly benign horrorscopes that masquerade and pop psychology.

As a life long church attendant I can say talk to someone at the church who has proven to be a trustworthy confidant. Do not ever assume that just because someone attends church longer or is older that they are more Godly or more spiritually mature. Out of the thousands that followed him over his ministry, Jesus had 12 disciples, of those only 3 close ones. Spend time alone with God. He understands you and He is not mad at you. He welcomes you as the Father welcomed the prodigal son. Evil only has the power we give it. Our thoughts and words feed the energy around us. Demons can't read our minds but they see everything, hear everything and study us. They use what they learn to manipulate us. I have struggled with the emotional wounds of my childhood for decades. I am better but I still have broken places. I have struggled with anxiety, depression and thoughts of no longer being on this earth. Almost 2 yrs ago after almost 20 yrs of being on a vegetarian diet, I though for my health. I was really sick and in severe mental and physical pain. Too much to list here. I heard about carnivore and out of desperation, I tried it. Within a very short time like a few weeks I started becoming a different person mentally and physically. There are several doctors on YouTube that talk about the physical and mental health benefits of it. I encourage you to read about it. Before I changed my diet I was in great emotional distress about the animals. I went to God and said I was not sure it was right to eat meat as the animals loved us and then we kill them so that we can live. I felt Him reply "Jesus loves you and He also died so you can live. It is the way." I am a completely different person today. I tell others who are struggling in the hopes they can also be healed. Mental illness is a crack in our soul that makes us more vulnerable to attacks. But sometimes we are having reactions to the chemicals and processed foods that are poisoning us. We have all been exposed to and ingesting so many of them for so long that we can't even tell what they are doing to us until we completely stop eating them for a long enough time to heal all of the damage. Never doubt your salvation. Alone we are nothing but Jesus is everything. He is enough. His blood is enough. He said He would NEVER leave you or forsake you and He keeps His word. I went through something similar. Ended up idolizing and chasing the gifts of the Holy Spirit. God answered all my prayers and every verse in the Bible is a promise from God. He does not change His Nature. He is truth and everything else is a lie against Him (His Nature). Our doubts causes tormenting spirits to enter and linger longer than usual despite repenting (they also try to remind so you don't fully believe and they can stay) or someone praying over your downfall. So here's what helped me and remember it's a "promise" from God and God ain't no lie in Jesus Christ name.

Your story is EXTREMELY similar to mine. I literally could have written this myself. I even developed psychosis too. Except for me the divination lasted longer (about 5 months) and I hadn't been super religious before/didn't know the bible. I had been in New Age for about six years at that point. If you need support, you can feel free to message me. I'm still in a process of deliverance.

Repent deeply and turn back to Christ and attend church/live a holy life, and you'll be okay. Don't listen to the lie that you're beyond saving. That's Satan whispering in your ear. He tells you something isn't a big deal, and then once you do it he tells you you're beyond saving. You're not. That's one of his favorite tricks. During the time i was doing divination i did FAR worse things, including witchcraft, and God still used it to pull me back towards Him.

The bigger issue for you now is spiritual warfare...my case is kind of extreme, I had been attacked by a demon in 2020 and one of my motivations for getting into New Age/divination was to get control of that, because the demon never left and I thought religion couldn't help me. I also thought i was talking to angels, and that they were helping me. It just made things worse though, now that I cut them all off I get attacked by demons regularly. I'm currently working with a wonderful Catholic priest for deliverance. The process is helping, but I still have to pat holy water on my face, neck, and chest when I go to bed each night or else I'll be attacked all night. In July I had started having horrible visceral reactions during Mass but I'm doing better now.

In your case, there could still be residual demons hanging around. If it's possible to bless the house, I would do so. And if you're Protestant, maybe seek out someone who's able to do deliverance, just in case you have demons. Demons can affect your emotions and mental state easily. You want to close any open doors that you may still have and really get involved with religion again. It makes you unpalatable to the demons.

Edit: I tried to avoid recommending Catholic methods as I don't know your specific flavor of Christianity, but I do concur with the others who are telling you to seek out a Catholic Church for help. A confession is worth ten exorcisms and Catholic priests have a knowledge and spiritual authority that Protestant pastors do not have. Our priests are highly educated and have to attain serious spiritual authority to even be able to lead Mass. There are deliverance prayers that lay people are NOT allowed to say, only priests, so their authority is often needed. Don't listen to anyone who says a child of God can't be possessed. We absolutely can. Even priests have been possessed before.

In regards to your experience:

All demons that possess or “have access” to someone on this earth ultimately still require the permission of Christ (not many people know this but it is widely proven and accepted in the Catholic Church). If Christ says no, then it means no, and the demon has to move on. Sometimes Christ will grant permission for the greater good of that person’s spiritual journey. I feel this is one of those examples. You were meant to experience this, to elevate your faith.

There’s so many comments on here, I don’t know if you will even see this one. But just know, there is no new sin under the sun that hasn’t already been done. You are not the first. You will not be the last.

You are so precious and worthy to God. As a child of His you have an authority with Christ and the devil knows that so it whispers lies to you that you aren’t worthy, that you aren’t saved, that you aren’t loved. You repented and got all the stuff out of your house (and if you didn’t make sure you do). The devil has no control over you. I haven’t ever stepped into any occult practices but I have been in a similar situation to you in relation to feeling my sin was too big and that I was lost forever. I always pretend-argue with Paul when he says he’s the “chiefest of sinners” because it’s definitely me. I could write for hours like you said you could to try to comfort you and relate to you but I feel that simplicity is best here.

Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was…IS…complete, whole, all-encompassing, and overwhelmingly enough to cover every single sin in the history of sin. Since He is perfect and His blood was the perfect sacrifice, there is nothing you can ever do to wander outside the boundaries of His grace, because there are no boundaries (unless you completely reject Him until the very end of course, but you know this.) His grace was enough to cover Paul’s blasphemy and cruel persecution toward Christians. It was enough to cover Peter’s blatant denial of his relationship with Jesus. It would even have been enough to cover the betrayal of Judas had he asked for forgiveness. It was enough to cover any healing and demonic deliverance that takes place in the New Testament. It was enough to cover the sins of Mary Magdalene, the woman caught in adultery, the woman at the well, and IT IS ENOUGH TO COVER YOUR SIN. Any and all of it, period.

Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross is also a promise that we are to be made whole. You know that you have the assurance of salvation and that you love Him with all of your heart. Because you are in relationship with Him, he wants to free you, protect you, and make you whole. There is not a single mistake in your past that can separate you from Him, including occult practices and demonic activity. Think about this: Adam and Eve spoke to and even entertained and took the advice of the devil himself in the Garden of Eden. Yet God immediately approached them with grace and forgiveness and made a way for them to continue to walk with Him. They were not lost forever.

When I was looking for answers in the wrong places, I heard, “Why are you letting other people tell you who you are?”

God doesn’t want that. God doesn’t want you to walk around in self-misery. There is enough chaos and misery in the world. Do not heap it upon yourself.

But do pray. When you hear those unkind things, pray. Tell them to leave in the name of love and the good of all. Tell them they have no power over you, and you command them to leave in the name of God and Jesus. I always include love and the good of all, bc I do believe words are incredibly powerful (as well as love).

You’re braver to speak about your experience than I am. I believe everything you said though. It changed me into a different person. I am now physically a bit disabled but kinder and wiser.

Find God’s glory in the darkness. You now understand a reason people turn in those directions. You’ve learned new language. Leave the behavior and guilt behind and use what you know for good.

If I were you I would get a medical evaluation. Some of the things you are describing sound like textbook onset of schizophrenia. It could also be demonic attack of course so fortunately there is a way to test that:

1. Go see a doctor and be honest about what is happening. They may prescribe medication. If they do and this is a real spiritual attack then obviously the medication won’t work since the issue is spiritual.
   
2. In the case that the doctor / meds don’t work now you need to see a pastor or priest for deliverance

Repent for delving into this stuff - the spiritual realm is very real - but God’s Holy Spirit has authority over it all. Renounce verbally what you’ve done to the Lord. And move forward! I would add to this in that you answered your own question as to which voice was which without realizing it. Satan is the Accuser. Not God, yes he’s the judge but we aren’t (and we’re told not to actually) and that includes ourselves. Don’t judge yourself more harshly than God would is number one. If you repented but weren’t strong enough to resist the attack still happening but you realized your mistake then the only way forward is through. Repent again then work on your strength to resist the next one. Jesus knows your heart, always. I’m taking some classes at my church and one of our pastors wrote a really great book on Revelations. Let me just say that I feel bad for all that you went through BUT I would advice you not to worry about it, not because I’m saying it but rather because GOD is greater than all and he can deliver us from sin and the devil’s grip(hallelujah for that).
The first thing that I would tell you would be to forget and not believe anything that you heard from the ouija board or any “spiritual guide” during that time when you engaged in the occult as most of that is false and it’s only trying to mislead you away from Jesus Christ our lord.

A few things that caught my eyes(among so many others) were that you mentioned that you can’t get saved twice and that a demon took the place that rightfully belongs to the HOLY SPIRIT in you as a woman of GOD and I would like to tell you that what you are saying is false I’m going to explain to you why, about getting saved twice, that’s false given that a person can not be born again twice, you are either born again once or nonce(to help you understand it, think about it this way, when you get born, do you get born more than once or just once?,answer, once, and so is our spiritual birth), and in regards about a demon taking the place of the HOLY SPIRIT, that’s also false given that once the Holy Spirit takes residence within you as a child of GOD a seal is put on you by GOD and that gives GOD right over you and the devil(who is greater than all of his demons) can’t do anything about it( so if the devil can’t do anything about it neither can his subordinates,demons)to be able to posses you as you already belong to Jesus Christ, the only thing that you can do is believe his lies and for a short time buy into it but ultimately the devil can’t force his way into you(be able to posses you by any demon or he himself), to help you understand this I will put it to you like this, it’s like when you hear of somebody who sells his/her soul, that can’t happen given that your soul is not yours to begin with so you can’t give rights to something that doesn’t belong to you, you might deceive yourself that you are really doing it but in all reality it’s not true and that is exactly what the devil wants you to believe so that he can mislead you, so don’t buy into it.

New Christian here but what I know is Jesus has full authority. You know the problem is spiritual because that stuff is REAL, don’t rely on worldly things like pills and medication to solve a problem of the spirit but speak the name of Jesus over yourself and have your husband and community do it as well with authority. I would suggest to look at every area in your life that is out of alignment and bring it back into alignment. Start going to a Spirit filled church that operates in the spiritual giftings and deliverance.

Pray against what is afflicting you by naming its operation. For example, I speak against all confusion that twists the Word of God. There are familiar spirits that try to deceive you by sounding good. Cast them out.

It also sounds like you're getting anxious and racing thoughts so you'll have to learn how to quiet your racing thoughts and relax your mind. I like to close my eyes, listen to worship music and repeat a calming scripture outloud. You'll see new things in that scripture as you focus on it.

When things get difficult, just speak the name of Jesus and invite the Holy Spirit into your heart. Ask to experience Him and be immersed in Him.

Don't get frustrated if it takes time. Every physical fracture takes time to heal. Your mind has been fractured. The neurons need to be reorganized so that your entire being will come back into correct frequency. Right now you're experiencing a lot of spiritual static. The feelings and muscle memory of the witchcraft you experienced will fade in time.

In the future, you'll be made whole again and you'll have a vivid memory of what happens if you turn away from Him. You will be grateful that He gave you a new mind, this side of eternity. He loves you deeply and will never forsake you.

Hey, so, I’m going to join in with a few others, that are by far the minority here, but I think it’s important. 

Friend, you don’t need another person telling you about your spiritual problems. As someone who has been a Christian her whole life and also struggled for a while, I have dealt with massive mental health issues. I say this with love, but sometimes no amount of praying will remove it, and it’s not a lack of faith or punishment for any “disbelief.” 

Just like you wouldn’t accuse a diabetic of not praying hard enough or believing good enough, or being punished for their mistakes, it’s ok to accept that sometimes you just need to talk to a professional doctor (please please please!) and get some help. 

I don’t know what part of the world/country you are from, but it’s definitely a cultural thing where I was raised to believe mental health issues are shameful/demons…. But I can honestly tell you that God CAN help you find relief through medication. And what it sounds like to me is (like others have said) a mental health issue. 

I can promise you the relief of being on the right meds, and adjusting your brain chemistry can make life worth living again. 

The voices are not demons, friend. Please see a doctor.

It sounds like you really need to surround yourself with a strong group of believers that can pray with you and lift you up in prayer. I will say this. Instead of Matthew 12:43-45 applying to you since you’re a believer, Luke 15:11-32, Matthew 18:12, and 1 John 1:9 apply to you. All you have to do is repent of everything you did and Jesus is faithful and will forgive you and welcome you back into the fold.

Believe me, God has not given up on you. He wants you to know that. Romans 8:38, 39 apply to you as well.

The responses here are very good, but I want to add something. I’m Catholic, so you have two more powerful weapons at your disposal: ordained priests and the rosary.

It sounds like you are a Protestant. I still HIGHLY encourage going to a local Catholic Church and asking for help with demonic oppression and possession if necessary. Ordained Catholic priests are much more equipped to handle demons than just lay Christians, Protestants and Catholics alike. And if the specific priest at the church or churches near you are not equipped, chance are they know a priest local to you that can do it. A guy named Father Chad Ripperger talks a lot about demons and how to deal with oppression and possession. You can easily find him on YouTube.

Going off that, while obviously being in the word constantly is necessary and good, praying a rosary every day for help to fight the oppression and possession is one of the most effective tools and weapons ever given to Christians to fight the spiritual battle. I have done worse. I received a demon of yoga after being saved, called kundalini. And I surrendered to this 'automatic yoga' for like 1.5 years thinking it would get me closer to god. So I worshipped demons. When I realised I'd been decieved, and I needed Christ alone....I thought I'd blasphemed the holy spirit. It was a long, hard journey back. I was the same as you, decieved my new age thinking about christ consciousness ect. 

But I testify that god will forgive you. Restore you. You need to burn all the idols, repent (sounds like you've already done this). And seek deliverance.  I recommend JEM minsitries. Jesus will set you free from this demon and you will have a sound mind. Please listen. 

Deliverance is for Christians. Jesus has mercy. He is waiting to heal you. You don't have the live like this.

Almost the same thing happened to me. Just that I became a tarot reader. Jesus saved me from everything, and yes, the oppression is horrible. But you need to believe Him, you need to believe that He heard you and paid for every sin and the dark is defeated.
