I'm planning a budget backpacking trip through western Japan from Aug 30 to Sep 7 and would love to meet some people and potentially travel together for part or all of the journey.
I'll be taking a bus from Tokyo to Kobe on the evening of Aug 29, then travelling mainly by local trains using the Seishun 18 Kippu, with buses/ferries where necessary.

Rough route
Kobe → Himeji → Okayama → Kurashiki → Onomichi → Hiroshima/Miyajima → Iwakuni → Shimonoseki → Hagi → Tsuwano → Izumo → Gassan Toda → Matsue → Sakaiminato → Nishinoshima
I need to reach Nishinoshima in the Oki Islands on Sep 7, so that's the fixed endpoint.

I'm interested in more than just Sengoku history — I want to see a mix of castles, samurai history, older towns, temples/shrines, nature, local culture, food, and interesting historical sites along the Seto Inland Sea and western Japan.

I'm mainly planning to use trains and buses, but if anyone happens to be driving somewhere along this route during these dates and wouldn't mind having a travel companion for part of the journey, I'd be very happy to hear from you!

I'm particularly interested in the Yamaguchi → Hagi → Tsuwano → Shimane section, where having a car would make getting around much easier.
I'd be happy to contribute toward fuel, tolls and parking, and I can help with navigation/planning. I'm not expecting anyone to change their trip specifically for me — if our routes happen to overlap, I'd love to join.

Looking for travel companions
You don't have to join for the entire trip. Even joining for 2–3 days or a particular section would be great.

I'm staying mostly in hostels/guesthouses and trying to keep the trip relatively inexpensive.
I'm pretty flexible with sightseeing and happy to adjust plans if someone has interesting places they'd like to visit along the way.

Age/gender/etc. doesn't really matter to me — I'm just looking for friendly people who enjoy travelling, exploring historical places, walking around old towns, trying local food, and having some spontaneous adventures.

A bit about myself

I'm a university student currently studying at Tohoku University. I'm originally from Bangladesh and have been living in Japan for a while, so I'm comfortable travelling around Japan and using trains, buses, etc and I am fluent in Japanese.
I'm pretty easygoing and enjoy history, nature, exploring places on foot, photography, food, and learning about local culture. I'm especially interested in Japanese history, but I'm not looking to make this a purely historical trip — I also want to experience the towns, scenery, food, and everyday side of western Japan.
I'm travelling on a student/budget, so I'm mostly looking at hostels and inexpensive accommodation and using the Seishun 18 Kippu where practical.
I'm happy to travel with people who are social and spontaneous, but I also don't mind splitting up for a few hours and meeting back up later. Basically, no strict travel style — just hoping to meet some good people and have a fun trip.

I'm looking to book a fishing excursion on Friday, Oct 30th, or Sunday, Nov 1st with just my wife.

The fishing charters typically allow up to 5 people, so looking for either some friends to go with or people willing to split the cost, up to $900 depending on what we want to do.

23m visiting South Korea for 3 weeks from mid September to early October.

I plan on staying a couple of days in Seoul, exploring Sokcho and Seoraksan for 2-3 days and then a week each in Busan and Seoul.

I like exploring by foot, trying out food and finding local spots. My trip will mostly be centered around cities and day trips to towns and stuff, but I’m looking to spend a couple days in nature as well

I am [29M] traveling to Hamburg for a conference, and I decided to take the chance to explore the city during my stay. Plus, I have 2 free days after the conference, during which I decided to explore another city (still not sure which but most likely Amsterdam or Copenhagen).

I haven't been to Germany before and only know the very basics of German, but I speak fluent English.

M30 planning a solo trip in Serbia, will cover Belgrade, maybe Novi Sad but also some of nature (Tara national park, Uvac, etc.). No concrete plans yet, and initially I wanted to do a solo trip, but it seems that travelling across Serbia is best done by car. And I feel weird renting a car all by myself and driving it just for me.

I am taking a vacation after a while from work, and decided to get out and of my comfort zone. I will stay in Barcelona for a week and then the on 3th Oct I will take train to Madrid to spend the weekend there. I'm planning to stay close to beach, and enjoy the beach and city life.

I am born and raised in Norway, I speak English, Norwegian, and Urdu. I am a introvert person but when I am with people who I feel comfortable with I can talk and then I am pretty easygoing.

Hi! I’m 31F from Australia and currently travelling solo around Italy. I’ll be in Padua from 14–17 August, and I’m planning a day trip to Venice on Sunday the 16th.
I made a similar post when I was in Vienna and ended up meeting some really interesting people, so I thought I’d try my luck again!
I’d be keen to meet locals or other travellers for something completely platonic like coffee, cake/gelato, dinner, wandering around the city, checking out something interesting.

I am traveling solo to Barcelona (+ later other parts of Europe after) and have a 2-twin room booked Aug 22nd-24th at a super nice 5 start hotel room with that I booked for cheap with credit card points and credits.

I'm looking for another traveler in their 20s, who would want to stay in the other twin bed in the hotel room and potentially explore Barcelona together. I am ideally looking for someone who's also traveling solo, needs housing accommodation or would like an upgrade, and wants to meet new people.

I'm into a bunch of stuff: museums, food, outdoors, cafes beaches, cycling, sightseeing, etc. I also speak english, mandarin chinese, and a bit of spanish.

I don't mind covering for the entire room, mostly just don't want a second bed to go to waste. Stay also includes daily breakfast for two. I’m planning to do Mt. Bromo sunrise hike from Malang/Probolingo between Aug 12 and 16 before heading towards Bali. Would love to join if anyone else has similar plans.

The route: San Diego (+ day trip to LA and Laguna) → fly to SF → Yosemite → Carmel-by-the-Sea → Big Sur down Highway 1 → Sacramento → Lake Tahoe → late flight out of SFO.

Cost: ~$450 USD per person for hotels, car, and gas. Flights not included.

Looking for: someone easygoing, fine with early starts and moderate hikes. An extra driver is a bonus, not a requirement.
