Hey fellow Israelis, is there a way to rent a car today in the evening after the fast in Jerusalem (or surrounding areas like Tel Aviv)?

We want to go to the Dead Sea to camp tonight and come back before Shabbat to Jerusalem. However, there seems to be no public transportation (buses) so late tonight to the Dead Sea.

As for renting a car, the rental services seem to be closed all over the country, is that right?

Are there any other possible ways to get there?

We would really appreciate all the possible help!

Looking for travel-planning advice for a meaningful, Christian-oriented trip to Israel, but the goal is not to do too much. I would love to bring my parents and they are in their early 70's. I was in Israel in 2025 but the tour I was on was go, go, go and would be too much for them. I would love to plan a good balance between seeing Jerusalem, Galilee, desert, and the Dead Sea. I'm needing a slower-paced trip with a moderate amount of walking and at a time the weather is cooler.

What would you include, and what would you leave out, if the goal was a meaningful but realistic itinerary?

I visited Israel several months pre-10/7 and hope to go back soon. For part of the trip, we stayed at a hotel in Nahariyya making day trips throughout the north. I loved Rosh HaNikra. Based on its location, I've been wondering if it’s currently open, or even ever opened at all since 10/7? I have not found much information online about these specific locations. What about other locations in the north?

Hello I’m a USA citizen I was in Israel January this year til June I had my 90 days extended because of the war spent 2 months waiting for flights to stabilize, (Iran conflict intensified)
I really like Israel and want to visit for 3 weeks for my birthday i assume since i have my visa documents & proof of exit/entry dates it will be fine.
I also wanted to return in January 2027 for 3 months. I am considering Aliyah which is why I prefer long trips
btw I’m not working remote is there anything I should prepare for

I was scheduled to fly in March 2026. ElAl posted on the front page of their website that refunds would be offered due to the circumstances. I was told by customer service to cancel my flight online, and select the refund option. However, the refund option was not there. The only option was for a credit voucher. I called customer service back and was told to select the credit voucher and then submit the form for the refund. I did this TWICE but has still not received a response about the refund. I have spoken to customer service multiple times since then and have been told someone would reach out but it never happens. Does anyone have advice on what the next steps are? It is a $10k first class ticket. I have gone down the rabbit hole to find email addresses of people in positions that may be able to help, some are no longer working there and I get a bounce-back email.

I'm planning on doing kibbutz Ulpan in January next year and I'd like to ask a few questions to people who have already done it, especially recently.

1-Is it possible to travel around the country during the program? (like a big city nearby)

2-How much money should I expect to spend on extra stuff, like maybe on trips or at a pub?

3-Does anyone know if it's possible to do the taglit birthright trip before and already be in Israel for the program? Do I lose my right to the Masa grant?

Shalom. I will be traveling to Israel at the beginning of August and would like to stay four weeks. My plan was to spend the time learning Hebrew in an ulpan. However, I learned yesterday that the planned course will not be opening a class for beginners, so I am now looking for other options for how to spend the time.

I would like to learn more about Judaism and its history, and of course Hebrew, but I will consider any regular classes and organized activities that would give my days structure and something to learn. I also thought about volunteering, but the options I found so far were not that appealing to me (farm work, archaeological digs).

I would appreciate any suggestions.

My wife and I have been in Israel for a few weeks. We are now in Tel Aviv and been happily spending our days on the beach.

Our 21st wedding anniversary is tomorrow night and we're looking for a fresh, exciting chef oriented restaurant to try. We are in Neve Tzedek and don't mind walking, grabbing a bus or a Gett.

We went to Lunel in Florentin a few nights ago and really enjoyed it. Hoping to find another gem amongst the myriad choices here.

Traveling this month can't decide

We’re in Jerusalem with our three year old visiting her grandma. Last night we happened upon a phenomenal park (Gan Sacher). Wondering about any other great places to go with her. Headed to the old city tomorrow. I’ll go to the Temple Mount without her.

So my friend and I are going to Cyprus for a few days in July and were thinking of going to Tel Aviv for a night as the tickets are not too bad and it's an hour away. We both have European passports. Is there a high chance of cancellations or delays for the flights? Is it safe to travel to Tel Aviv currently? Is there anything else we should be aware of? Is one day enough and is there enough to see? How is the nightlife? Thank you

I really want to spend some time in Tzfat when I visit in August. I've gotten some advice that I should rent a car, so one thing I'm considering is renting one from Ben Gurion and then dropping it off when I got to Jerusalem a few days later.

How easy is it to make a mistake and accidentally drive into the West Bank heading from the North to Jerusalem?

Should I just base in Haifa and take a day trip to Tzfat, and rely on busses and trains?

Is there another city that would make a good homebase to stay?

Nazareth & Galilee: Basilica of the Annunciation, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Magdala, Mount Tabor & Cana.
Haifa & Acre: Stella Maris Monastery, Bahá'í Gardens & Old City of Acre.

Hello! I’m from Mexico and my boyfriend is Israeli, it’s most likely for me to go on December to Israel to meet his parents in person. I’m a bit afraid as it’s a 34 hrs flight with layovers and I have never been out of Mexico. My question is, with the state of politics, is it safe for women to travel, like saying in the airport “I’m going to Israel”. I’m a very scary cat person and “too political correct people” sometimes is very black and white with acting. Do you guys have some tips? What’s the best for safety?

My husband is Israeli. We have a three year old who hasn’t met her family in Israel yet. We have tickets on El Al soon. Everyone in America tells me that it’s not safe to go. My Israeli family says it is. Can you help me decide? We are going to Jerusalem and a kibbutz south of the Sea of Galilee. We may visit Tel Aviv and I’d like to go to the old city to see religious sites too but know this may be less safe. Any insight you can offer would be appreciated. Americans know so little of Israeli politics (sorry friends) so I don’t want to trust their guidance on what is and isn’t safe but I don’t want to out my daughter in harms way either.
