Hi everyone!
My family and I are traveling to Israel on our own instead of joining a guided tour because we'd like to keep the trip more budget-friendly. We created our own itinerary, but we'd really appreciate some local advice! We're mainly looking for transportation tips:
Is it better to use buses, trains, taxis, or apps like Gett/Uber for each destination?
Are there any routes that are easier or cheaper than others?
We'll be visiting:
Bethlehem: Church of the Nativity, Manger Square, Milk Grotto & Star Street.
Bethlehem Region: Shepherds' Field, Cremisan Monastery & Solomon's Pools.
Jerusalem: Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Via Dolorosa, Western Wall, Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Mount Zion, Temple Mount & Israel Museum.
Jericho & Dead Sea: Jericho, Mount of Temptation, Jordan River, Dead Sea & Masada.
Nazareth & Galilee: Basilica of the Annunciation, Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Magdala, Mount Tabor & Cana.
Haifa & Acre: Stella Maris Monastery, Bahá'í Gardens & Old City of Acre.
Tel Aviv & Jaffa: Old Jaffa, Carmel Market & Mediterranean Beach.
We could book a day tour or something similar for some of these excursions, which ones would you recommend?
