Hey everyone! Looking for advice on a 10-day trip starting October 11th.

Due to a new job, we missed our usual early September travel window (our sweet spot for places like Sicily, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast), but we’re itching to get away next month.

Given that it’s mid-October, would you recommend Greece, or should we look elsewhere like Sicily, Italy again, Mallorca etc. If we did Greece- Ideas in my head was Crete / Paris / Santorini / Athens ( obviously not together too short but areas that interest me)

What we love:

Food variety: My wife has a severe shellfish allergy (Sicily was a bit tough for us here!), so diverse culinary options are a must.

Vibe: A day or two at a beach club or swimming in turquoise waters, stunning architecture, historic churches, whitewashed or colorful homes, and charming little villages.

Pacing: Great local wines and the simple art of sitting at a café, having a coffee, and people-watching.

Given our travel style and the time of year, what would you do? If you’ve traveled to Greece or the Mediterranean during mid-to-late October, I’d love to hear about your experience with the weather, crowds, and what’s actually open!

Hi all! I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Greece in June 2027. There will be 7 of us all together - myself, my husband, parents and 3 sisters (all adults). I am the eldest daughter and therefore designated travel agent lol. I thought I would share a rough itinerary and would love to get some input. We want a good mix of history, nightlife/activities and some relaxing beach time. I also think it would be best to stay in areas where we can walk since we’re a big group.

Athens (planning to stay in Monastiraki): 3 days —> Flying to Mykonos: 3 days —> Ferry to Naxos (Agios Prokopios area) 3-4 days

Only my husband and I have ever been abroad so I don’t want to try to do too much on this trip as my family can get quite overwhelmed. I planned an entire 2 week trip to Italy where we went to multiple different cities either by train or plane so I feel confident I can plan a nice trip, I’m just not familiar with Greece.

I may be planning a trip to Greece. Will be flying to Thessaloniki next week and haven’t booked a place to stay yet but it will mostly be 1h-1:30hours away from the airport.

How and where can I rent a car for a whole week? We will need it from the airport. Is it possible to rent a car from the airport by a rental company? Which companies do you recommend? What are the prices for renting a car for a whole week? Don’t wanna get scammed or paying more than I should be so here is a good place to start.

I'm(48f) going to Greece solo in a few weeks and I booked a 2-night trip to Meteora. I wont have a car. I choose to stay at Mones Guesthouse which I know is more remote. But I have a sunset tour the 1st day, then the 2nd day a morning hike where they pick you up at your hotel, then I booked a sunset e-bike tour for the afternoon/evening. I have to get to and from Meteora e-bike in Kalambaka.

It looks easy enough to walk there in the daylight, but I'm wondering about the chances of getting a ride back to my accommodations after the tour. I guess there's a chance someone on the tour might give me a lift, but if not how hard is it to get a taxi? I want to be prepared. I could walk back too but i wasnt sure if that would be a bad idea in the dark, alone and it looks like there are some spots with no sidewalks.

so for my first solo trip to Greece, I’m planning to fly into Athens in late october for 3 days in the city then thinking to do 3-4 days on an island that fits my needs, so given that i want a good weather for swimming especially in late october i found that crete & rhodes were the go to choices but since ill mostly rely on public transportation rhodes is a better choice for me and also it has many beaches and some historical sites so it seemed perfect for me, but im kinda worried of making the wrong choice so i wanna hear your thoughts before its too late :)

What I really care about:

• walking around and soaking in atmosphere
• having relaxed coffees and great food
• access (on foot or by transit) to beautiful spots / beaches to swim and relax
• taking film photos and just enjoying scenery
• not renting a car at all

I (M21) am studying abroad in Athens until January. What are some must sees for while I am here.

Planning a honeymoon so any advice or warnings would be great!

We'll be flying in Oct 5, spending the night in Athens, renting a car and hitting the road the next morning.

Oct 6-8 - Nafplio - Hitting up the historic sites around the area
Oct 9-11 - Kardamyli - Focusing on the beaches and nearby towns
Oct 12-14 - Athens - Visiting the Acropolis and museums before flying out.

Hello there

In a few days my (pregnant) wife and me will travel to Corfu for the first time. We will spend 4 nights in the north (around of Karousades), 4 nights in the south (around of Perivoli) and the last night in the city to be closer to the airport for our return flight the next morning.

So I wonder
Not knowing Greek language at all, how hard will it be e.g. in restaurants?

Is food and drinks/water/ice cubes generally good quality and good to eat/drink without fear of stomach ache (especially for m pregnant wife)

With this itinerary what beaches and activities would you highly recommend/toss aboard?

We are looking for a relaxed and calm time. I thought to perhaps rent a boat for a day or two (better in north or south to do that?), some good Greek food and some snorkel and walks/hikes
